Mrs. Butterworth's for my waffles and pancakes, please. I never see the commercials with the bottle talking anymore, though. :~( Which reminds me... There used to be a commercial for something(I think it was Purina pet chow) with a covered wagon running across the kitchen floor that disappeared into the cabinets. Haven't seen that one in ages, either. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

LOL! :) There will be a pop quiz after the video. ;) Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I've been trying to make a crispy thin crust for pizza. The recipes and mixes always turn out chewy, but I discovered soft flour tortillas from the grocery do quite nicely. I actually use a small sauté pan and take a small tortilla and fit it down inside, with the edges sticking up enough to form a sort of bowl for spooning in my pizza ingredients. The tortilla heats up and gets crisp quickly, so I pre-cook whatever filling I want to throw in. The end result is a crispy pizza. :~) The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Are you starting with standard (flat) flour tortillas or those "artisan style" tortillas that are about a half inch thick? |

You put pepperoni and mozzarella cheese between two flour tortillas and heat in the microwave. Cut them into wedges and dip them in marinara sauce (or pizza sauce). Of course you can add things like onions or mushrooms - whatever you like. I put the pepperoni in the microwave by itself first, on paper towels, so it would be crisp and a lot of the grease would melt off. ~Sue~ |

"artisan style" tortillas that are about a half inch thick Say what?!! Half inch thick tortillas wouldn't work very well as tortillas, I think. I'll have to google them. I can't imagine. ~Sue~ |

A Tale of Two Tortillas, Thick and Thin The photo in that article looks similar to the tortillas I've used, but here is an exact picture of a package of them: The mind is a weird and mysterious place |
