I swallowed the free load of WIN 10 on both a desktop and a laptop, and both now exhibit the same problem -- while BOINC is the chosen screensaver, it never invokes/goes to screensaver mode. If I choose any other screensaver, MS or other, the screensavers start up as expected (Both systems had BOINC under WIN 7 and worked normally.) In troubleshooting, if I go to screensaver page on either system and make a slight change (change timer by a minute, etc) and click on APPLY, the screensaver will invoke after the time elapses. Clicking on OK does not trigger correct operation, only if I click Apply. To keep BOINC working on both these systems, every time I boot them I have to go thru the process of making some change to let me click Apply on the screensaver page. That's getting tiresome! I've reinstalled BOINC and changed from 7.4.42 to 7.6.6 to now 7.6.9 versions. Suggestions? Helping where I can. Hindering everywhere else. |

Clicking on OK does not trigger correct operation, only if I click Apply. Then try: click Apply and hit [Esc] Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Yeah, I would love to, except Apply is grayed out. Can't click it if it's not a valid choice. I have to make some change that triggers the Apply option. Helping where I can. Hindering everywhere else. |

Found a solution. Option 1 worked for me. Apparently the Fast Startup function read from a hibernate file that did not include my BOINC screensaver choices, which is why I had to go in and make the change every time I booted up the PC. http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-10-a.html Helping where I can.
