So in my situation, a relatively old GPU GTX275, would there be any benefit to overclocking it?

To be honest, i want to torture this GPU and achieve the max it can give me. Then when it dies i will buy a better one.

Is there any good sources of info for overclocking that people all agree on here?

Running overclocked GPUs is generally not a good idea for science data processing. Overclocked GPUs can produce bad math results, which in a game might have 5 out of 33+ frames per second with incorrect calculations that wouldn't even be noticeable to most people. But in science apps, correct results are important both for the project, and for you getting your credit granted (high overclocks are known to produce results that don't match closely to quorum partners thus leaving you out of granted credit for the time spent processing that data).

That said, most people use third party utilities and slowly increase the overclocks while keeping an eye on the number of erred or incorrect results to reach that perfect point of stability and results. Number Crunching is a better place to ask for overclocking advice.

I ont want to invalidate results or anything. I just want to get the most crunch i can out of it. I will make a new thread there. Thanks for the input.
