For some reason received in the last hour is still sitting around 100,000- in my cache & the odd amount of work I'm able to get seems to be a reasonable mix of VLARs and shorties. Possibly as I get more work, there will be more shorties than VLARs, hence the current Returned-in-the-last-hour numbers. Still getting a few VLARs, but everything else is a shortie. 100,000/h continue to come in, and even with the splitters finally picking up the pace they still can't keep up with the demand. Why all those complaints? At least I am getting my share of tasks without too much problems. Everyone knows that Seti@home is not the same as the Seti Institute. If there are any problems when it comes to downloading or uploading of tasks, such problems should be the responsibility of the lab and noone else. If someone wishes me to not say anything, it probably is still the correct answer. |

Huge number of results being returned, and once again the splitters have dropped their bundle. For a few hours there they were managing to average around 30/s; but once again they've dropped back to less than 20/s with the odd burst to almost (but not quite) 30/s. Grant Darwin NT |

Grant, Why is it the every time you are complaining about the splitters, Your computers are at least 80% full? Please quit complaining about splitters until you are EMPTY! |

Is AP splitting done automatically or does is require a staff to push the buttons? Either way, it would help with some APs since the MB ready to send buffer is around 0. |

AP splitting is only done when a new "tape" is loaded. By default it is done before the MBs are split from the same tape. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

since vlar currently mostly run on CPU (only linux has the GPU App available) it's going to take a long time to clear them all. So....... |

Linux/x86_64 7.08 (opencl_nvidia_sah) 18 Sep 2015, 18:34:25 UTC 2,155 GigaFLOPS That is the app for GPU Vlar crunching. Since I don't have any, I can't say much more about it. I only know about it as it's been in beta testing on Setibeta for a while. They recently released it on Main for Linux only. |

Patience, Patience, Patience. I think we are like + 6 now. We gotta believe, The road to success may be hard but that is what makes it memorable. If it was easy it would have have been done already. The ATI/AMD OpenCL Apps have always been able to run VLARS. It's just that unless you have a High End card it causes lots of screen Lag. Even with a High End card it's much slower running a VLAR than a 'normal' task, so, most people don't want to run them. All you have to do to test it is change a couple lines in the state file, then you too can take much longer to get the same credit as with a 'normal' task. I'm not sure about a VLAR storm, I see more shorties in my CPU cache. I think it's just high demand and Low Splitter output. Some people are effected more than others. |
