A quarter of all medical doctors working in Sweden are born abroad. Many are former refugees. They and others bring quality to our country.

Guess who said that.

Solution?

The Guardian has an unfortunate history over many years of having simple spelling mistakes in its editions. That is why to all and sundry it is still nicknamed the Grauniad to this day. It was initiated by the Private Eye magazine.

And do you really think that your divine knowledge is known in the US!!!!

Common knowledge is known throughout the Western world, including the USA, apparently not in Sweden.

Sigh...
Yes I'm a swede living in the western world!
Chris Your common "knowledge" is that you know absolutly nothing!
Are swedes different to other people in Europe?
That's a racist statement if you think we are.
Well Keep up your appearance...

I said earlier that it might be nice if the personal insults stopped I see that this appears not to be possible.

I have to admit to expecting better.

I think a lock for 24 hours for a cool down is required.

Finland's prime minister, Juha Sipilä, said on Saturday he would offer his own home to asylum seekers.
The home in Kempele, northern Finland, could house asylum seekers from the start of the year, Sipilä told national broadcaster YLE, while calling all Finns to show solidarity with refugees heading to Europe to flee war and poverty.
Sipilä is usually based in the capital Helsinki.
He said an EU plan to redistribute 120,000 asylum seekers arriving in Greece, Italy and Hungary should be voluntary and hoped Finland could show an example in this regard.

A quarter of all medical doctors working in Sweden are born abroad. Many are former refugees. They and others bring quality to our country.

This year, 816 people received asylum in Russia. TWO from Syria. Russia complain that the EU does not take responsibility.

The fundamental values that we have long taken for granted are under pressure. They must be defended. Today initiates Daily News a petition where all who share these fundamental values can share their own convictions.

We are standing up for humanity.
We reject all forms of hatred, threats and racism.
Around the equality of all people there is no room for compromise.

Edit:
The Pope did on Sunday after its regular preaching a call for refugees. "I appeal to parishes, religious communities, monasteries and shrines all over Europe: accept a refugee family," he said at the show after his usual speech. The Vatican should itself take in two families, the Pope said.

"Refugee traffic is worse than the 1800s slavery - slaves did not at least have to pay for transportation," said Ridha Rijba on the Tunisian coast guard 3 years ago!

A couple of years ago, Hatem Hleli went on the illegal trip over the Mediterranean Sea, in Arabian slang called al-Hurqa, "burning". The expression refers to the refugees burning their ID documents to obstruct the authorities in the new country to deport them.

Unfortunately...
When Values conflicts with Personal/Tribal Safety - Personal/Tribal Economics - Personal/Tribal Cultures: Guess what happens to Values.
Nothing new. Human Nature has not advanced beyond what we see in our violent past.
Only 'Good Times' allow, as history instructs, a People's Belief in their own Human Nature/Cultural Advancement.
When times go bad...

Our country have not had bad times for a century.
Still there are people here that are racists and xenophobs.
Actually they are counted. At least 15% of the population are that.

We need immigration to support the growing population of elderly.
Only 3 days ago Carl Bildt, former PM of Sweden, said this.
A quarter of all medical doctors working in Sweden are born abroad. Many are former refugees. They and others bring quality to our country.

16% of the population in Sweden are born abroad and brings quality to our country.

Janne...

One hundred years, is nothing regarding Human History. Look back over the past 8000 years of Civilization. What does any One Hundred years mean?

When did any One Hundred or Two Hundred years of 'Good Times'. Modify what Human Cultures, Tribes, or Countries do, when times eventually 'Go Bad'?

Cultures can change over time Clyde.
We have not been in war for more than 200 years.
Before that there was wars all the time.
Russia 33 times:)
Sometimes war with Denmark, Poland and Germany.

Said in jest, but interesting all the same...

The other side of the coin

"Emigration is completely out of control in this country, and I'm sick of it. I'm not staying quiet any more. You can't walk down a street in Jamaica or Hong Kong or India without hearing someone speaking English, and in Canada and Australia we have even introduced our own legal system, decimated local communities and installed our own head of state! DISGUSTING! English has now been imposed as the official language of 57 sovereign countries! FIFTY SEVEN!!!"

"The figures speak for themselves: 1,300,000 Britons live in Australia; 761,000 in Spain; 678,000 in the USA; 603,000 in Canada; 291,000 in Ireland... and even 8,500 in Mexico and 7,100 in Kuwait!

"We're literally EVERYWHERE!"

...hilarious but true.

These are, of course, things that the Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Italians and French, amongst many nations, mainly European, can't also claim?

Cultures (The People, Masses, Mobs, etc.), revert back to their foundation, in times of intense stress. As we may presently be seeing, regarding 'certain' Countries in The EU.

The world has become better a place then it was 60 years ago.
China had a life expectancy of about 60 years ago. Now it's 77.
Syria from 53 to 74. 5 years ago it was 77. !!!

We have an English person in our town,
and we treat that person with all due
respect, and regard. This person is a
valued and appreciated resident of our
fair burg. Every Saturday in the summer
time we let him out of his cage and then
chain him up to the lamp post so the farmers
in the area can come in to town to see and
throw small snacks and treats at him. This
is such a big draw that the Mayor passed a
by-law allowing the visitors to the town to
throw fruit and Loonies as well. The economic
benefit to the town has generated a resurgence
in our local area.
"Long live the Pioneers!

During the Swedish emigration to the United States in the 19th and early 20th centuries, about 1.3 million Swedes left Sweden for the United States.
That was about a quarter of the population...
