I hope that when the guys in the lab finish everything they have to do this afternoon, they take a moment to step back and say "That's quite a milestone - who ever thought we were going to need to do that? Well done everyone." And I hope they're also thinking "and thank goodness it went so smoothly." |

What's the award for the lucky user who gets task number 2^32 - 1? |

Wow, they loaded a lot of new tapes. Once everything comes back up, it should be interesting |

Well this is mildly interesting. So some of the APs that I already returned before the outage ended up being inconclusive against GPU wingmates. A _2 task has not been made for them, but the canonical result ID number is interesting.. wu1855469844 with a canonical result ID of 9223372036854775807, which obviously, does not exist. And it's not just that one WU in my own list that is like that. All four inconclusives are like that. No _2 task has been made, and the canonical ID is [pun]astronomically[/pun] large. I do see according to the SSP that quite a few things are still disabled, so that likely has something to do with a _2 not being made yet. /me runs away, before someone finds the Straight Jacket. Just a word of advice from a pedant -- it's a straitjacket, from the word strait meaning a hindrance, a hardship, a narrow part or passage; as in dire straits, or Bass Strait, Magellan Strait or Bering Strait, or strait-laced. :-) |

Me..I speak American...At least I used to. I guess you could call it Old American now, since these pups speak something straight out of BladeRunner... |

Me..I speak American... Not a good enough reason to not be able to spell something as simple as "its" vs "it's" correctly. Or "to" vs "too". Throws some oil on the fire and stands aside cackling and crowing with joy. |

They don't bother to teach them that anymore, it's more about the "correct political history" here... Anyway, we are off topic... Out of work, onto back up projects. What's with this conical work units issues and APs? |

Well this is mildly interesting. All of those have the identical 9223372036854775807 value shown for the canonical result, in hex that is 0x7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF so it is the largest possible positive signed 64 bit value. Joe |

Cannot Report completed work... Cache desperately low... Have Suspended on both systems. :-( (Last time I took on backup Projects, it took me 4 days to get SETI work again.) TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Just curious-- Did anyone get new ap or other tasks after the outage? |

Just curious-- No additional tasks for me... Both machines were crunching what they had prior to the Outrage. Now, I have both machines Suspended to preserve the work I have. (NOT going to backup Projects this time.) Cannot Report completed work, either... :-( TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Yep, with the exception of one, all my inconclusive APs have this issue. [edit] And have "virtually" granted 559.33 cobblestones, which never arrived in my account. Once again: Bye bye credits... Anyone else catch the news of a server fire at Berkeley. Something about unsigned integer conversion to signed integer being the cause? FYI compilers won't complain about this, no matter how much you ratchet up the warning messages. And chips will happily do it and won't throw signals. It is entirely on the programmer to be sure that there are no integer conversions he isn't in control of. BTDT. Fix, strip out every INT, SHORT INT, LONG INT, LONG LONG INT and use the uint8_t, uint16_t, etc. as these types you can get the compiler to bitch about! |

Well that tells me I can change my back up projects preferences to cover until tomorrow. Thanks Keith |
