Mmmmn, sounds like old Joe's been dusting off the AVX intrinsics boots again ? could be interesting to see if 16 threads of Xeon could melt my face, lol "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. I'm still looking at Google links. It also appears it will only run the SSE41 App. Oh well, the SSE41 App is almost as fast as the AVX one. |

well I just dip out on the AVX I reckon, but not complaining :D) http://ark.intel.com/products/47929/Intel-Xeon-Processor-X5677-12M-Cache-3_46-GHz-6_40-GTs-Intel-QPI, by 2 "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Tjips, it's darker now than it was 6 hours ago - middle of my night. Typing this quickly in front of an approaching thunderstorm: I sent word about the VLARs to the admins, they acknowledge that the VLAR check may no longer be in place and will look and see if they bring it back up. So it isn't intent to run VLARs on GPUs. |

Shout out to my Queensland relatives that didn't notice the factor 5.2 earthquake at all.... "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. And unlike most advice, it's backed up by proofs." -- Algorithms to live by: The computer science of human decisions. |

The sun is starting to come up on Thursday morning. Wondering if I should pick out another backup project or try to get Climate Prediction to only give me only one wu. If that is possible. |

Tools, Computing Preferences, Set it to 0.01 day, plus 0 extra... then activate backup for a short time. It won't load more than 1 per device usually. |

Sounds like a good day to "upgrade" a machine from 8.1 to 10 (Windows, that is). :-) |

The Seti graphs are a mess, and the Server Status page is a sea of red, so it looks like thinks will be down for a while longer. Grant Darwin NT |

Be glad you don't live in Iceland. They're getting snow this weekend. |

Yea I noticed the big gap in the graphs too, to my eye it looks like they deleted about 6 hours of corrupt data. Ohh well, more to crunch later. |

WE are way off topic here, but, The last time I flew back from Europe (over Iceland in November) OMG what a view on a bright sunny day of beautiful snow covered mountains that stretched forever it seems.! And I'm thinking damn, damn, damn, my camera is not in my carry-on :( |

I went to my account page, and clicked on tasks, and a bunch of them said "Not in DB". I seem to be crunching some unknown type of work...... :D Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

From my limited understanding of the way things go. That is not a good thing SciManStev. How long to a fix?? I finally bit the bullet and fired up my backup project "Climate Prediction." It downloaded three CPU tasks for almost six (6) days of work. Luckily 2 will clear out in 93 hours. Then 140 hours for the last one to clear out. |

... and a bunch of them said "Not in DB". That was the case last night before David added more fixes. Of what I understood, there weren't enough places reserved in the database for all possible application names, there were only 50 reserved. So most of the anonymous applications and some of the regular applications could not be defined in the database. They'll crunch fine, with correct application and as far as I know will validate correctly. And as said, it was fixed already (100 names can now be defined). Whatever happened afterwards that no more work was going out and that the BOINC database server crashed this afternoon was unrelated to the "Not in DB" buglet. |
