I guess you could say we've got 99 problems, but a server ain't one... right now.

By saying that I know I just jinxed things. Sorry about that.

Pulling forward Cosmic_Ocean's post from PMO 98:

we're getting closer to another new milestone of sorts. 2^32 tasks.

David says

The conversion hadn't been done, but we'll do it.
I'm glad we have alert users to warn of stuff like this.

Yay! I contributed something other than the occasional rant and CPU time. :)

No need yet. Start doing that Tuesday, when apparently these fixes are going to be introduced here. It was nice knowing you all... rereg here we come. :P

I've tested this locally, and we'll deploy it on SETI@home next week.

Thanks Jord, glad to have corresponded with a fellow dutchman (even though I don't speak the language)

Yes - I think you contributed two sleepless weekends in serverland (Eric didn't sound too chuffed in email, either).

But at least they got time to plan and worry about it. Otherwise, I suspect we'd all have been saying our goodbyes around this time next Friday - and heaven knows how long it would have taken to work out why.

FWIW I would classify Eric's response as measured to the target, but suspect he would have royally chucked a wobbly if there was a physical meeting. Kudos to virtual meetings for preventing violence,

Since it sounds like next Tuesday may be a long outage, let me remind people that while the project is down you can come over to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8105 and cry in your beer waiting for there to be more work units.

The might be implementing the database change at Beta first to make sure it will work here next week.

Seem like there are some 2 and 3rd run APs slowly making their way into the system. Been a good day for me, about 20 or so across all my computers.

Not really a server problem, nor is it something to go into "Panic Mode" about, but GPU tasks used to be separate from the CPU tasks when calculating your limit for "Tasks" - and now (apparently...) they aren't...

I cannot tell that from looking at my cruncher. I have been keeping the count low to have room for APs if they became available but increased the number of days work to keep in my local queue to test what you said. In the last half hour I have downloaded enough WUs so that I now have 100 CPU tasks and 100 GPU tasks. These are the same limits that have been around for a long time. Below are the times when I received the downloads so it appears that the large RTS figure might not be indicative of what the SETI server is doing.

26-Jul-2015 19:24:06 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 49 new tasks
26-Jul-2015 19:29:09 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 2 new tasks
26-Jul-2015 19:34:13 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 10 new tasks
26-Jul-2015 19:39:21 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
26-Jul-2015 19:44:29 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 4 new tasks
26-Jul-2015 19:49:38 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 26 new tasks

Times are EDST (East Coast USA)

Edit: I just noticed the first downloads were mostly vlars so perhaps there were not any WUs immediately available for the GPU after the CPU queue was full.
