While watching an old episode of Columbo, I discovered what the little circular things are that appear occasionally in older movies. I thought it was just dust on the film, but apparently, according to the explanation in the Columbo episode, they are indicators for the projectionist to change the reel! You'll see one, and then a few seconds later another one, indicating the reel has been changed. Fascinating stuff; just showing I'm never too old to learn something new. I still don't understand how the reels match up though, and you don't notice a change other than the little circular flashes.

It was a manual process. When you see the flashes, you start the second reel on the other projector.

I don't understand how it synchronizes so perfectly, though.

The end of one reel ends with fade to black and other reel starts with fade to black.

Well, I know in Hitchcock's Rope, they made use of the back of a man's dark jacket to cover that switch up, but it's not detectable in most films.

They can add a fade to black segment at any point when they switch to another scene.

Maybe that's what it is; I'm going to pay closer attention...

Watching some Twilight Zone shows I've never seen. I love that old series, but for every classic episode there's a real odd stinker.

Just watched Burnt Offerings, starring Karen Black and Bette Davis. It had some thematic elements and several scenes reminiscent to The Shining. I think Stephen King got some ideas for his book, and definitely the cinematographers did.

When I get lost late at night, these are things I always retreat to.
I am not sure I have seen every episode just yet.
I always seem to find one that is new to me.
I spend many hours there.
There is nothing better than a mind's imagination to get one going.

Just finished watch episode 1 of DAMIEN a new show that carry's on where the movie The Omen finished.

It has clips from the movie and they are doing it in the same way .

If you want a great horror forget vampires forget Grimm forget Lucifer and Supernatural this show will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up .

So if you had nightmares after watching the OMEN or Damien the omen 2 then watch this new show DAMIEN

And what a perfect time to start showing it . First it starts in Syria on Damien's 30th birthday ........

Jesus was baptised on his 30th birthday .........

And to think war in Syria the Donald running for president Putin at the door step of Europe pushing for war .

Hollywood you have to give them credit could not pick a better time for something like this and if they are following the movie they are being advised by the church as was both movies...

Be afraid be very afraid

ok now to watch the other 6 episodes got me Bible and me cross and the rosary beeds ...............
