Finishing off Season 1 of the Netflix version of "Lost in Space". It's good, but different from the original 1960s version; sort of as much of a 'remake' as the movie version was, even though it was a different Robot in that one, it at least was the original Robot's voice. Totally different Robot here. The only vocalization is the famous "Danger, Will Robinson". *Spoiler Alert*: Watch for the 'Easter Egg' about Dr Smith. |

"Danger, Will Robinson" I have a little miniature version of the robot that says that when you press his head, plus Warning, warning!, and This does not compute! The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

*Spoiler Alert*: Watch for the 'Easter Egg' about Dr Smith. It's really from the New series, but there is a connection to the Old. But I'm not telling, that would not be fair. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

A couple of friends told me that Ozark (Netflix) was pretty good so I started watching it. I am very hard of hearing and need to use closed captioning (CC) to be able to understand some of the dialog. Unfortunately, the CC for Ozark didn't sync well which made it very difficult for me to watch. I watch with sound and CC turned on. I do that because CC, by itself, really sucks on many shows. But when the CC doesn't sync up with the voice, it's incredibly annoying. There are some shows I've tried to watch where some of the CC is synced and some is not. When it's not, it either doesn't show up on the screen at all, or it goes buy so fast that you haven't enough time to read it. One channel in particular will show two lines of dialog but one line will be written over the other line. :-( I have great sympathy for those people who are totally deaf. If they have to deal with the same issues, I suspect there are many shows they just can't - or won't - watch. I think, if I were deaf, I'd be writing letters to people who are responsible for CC, complaining about how poorly it's done. Maybe I should do that, anyway. Edit/Added: If a show doesn't have CC, I don't bother to even try to watch it. I'm also an accomplished procrastinator and this is the only reason I don't have suitable hearing aids. I can get them for free from the VA hospital. My depression and chronic fatigue make it real easy for me to put off going and getting them. If I had them, I could (most probably) watch TV without CC. ~Sue~ |

Well I'm not totally deaf and I'm not a procrastinator, not by choice at least, the energy and pain have to be at certain levels here, low for pain and high for energy, then I'll be able to get something done. I just moved a printer and a heavy box of paper as a unit since its a tractor feed printer, I even posted a pic in My thread. I have 1 shelf left to do on My old desk out of 4.
