Message 1943460 - Posted: 9 Jul 2018, 6:38:17 UTC - in response to Message 1943318.

I watched "American Animals" yesterday afternoon. It's about some college kids who try to steal some rare books from their college library. It's a good movie until a scene in it's 3rd quarter. Anyone who has watched it or will watch it, understands what I mean.

I know that feeling. It's like watching "The Boy". There's this big thing about this 3 foot tall doll. You expect something is happening or going to happen with it and nothing does. Because close to the end you learn that the boy is real and the doll is just a doll.

My problem with "American Animals" is there is a scene in which the boys tase and tie up the librarian, who is an older woman. It's a violent scene that was not necessary and could have been done in an "implied" way without the graphic depiction.

I stayed up most of the night to binge watch The Handmaid's Tale. That was a mistake. (yawn)

I hope there's another episode coming. The ending was, well, it was sort of a non-ending.

Edit: Okay, yeah, there's one more episode to be released on Wednesday.

I finally watched SW:The Last Jedi.

Do you believe what Kylo Ren told Rey about her parents? I don't want to believe it.

And I think Snoke looks a little bit like Hugh Laurie.

They say that is may have the "Ring of Truth" to it.

There's a show on Viceland channel called "That's Delicious", featuring a rapper/chef named Action Bronson. It's a funny show, kind of dumb, but fun to watch.

I was not happy with the season finale of The Handmaid's Tale. I am absolutely sure they ended it the way they did so there could be a third season. 😠

Watched the move Lady Bird. I guess it was okay.

The Manchurian Candidate.
Another one of those movies I just never got around to watching before.

I hope you watched the original, Mark. As always, the original is the best. Great movie.

Actually, I am watching the remake with Denzel Washington, one of my favorite actors.
Pretty good so far, my viewing has been interrupted a few times by real life.
I may watch the original at some point as well.
Thank you for making me aware of it.

Frank Sinatra and Angela Lansbury are in the original. A really haunting movie. I actually haven't seen the re-make, so I shouldn't pass judgment, but once I've gotten attached to an original, I'm in love. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, with Gene Wilder, is one of my favorite movies, and when they re-made it a few years ago with Johnny Depp, I reluctantly went to see it, and I was disappointed.

Remakes can be funny that way. Many times the original imprints on you and it is extremely hard at that point for another version to go one up on it.

Sometimes the book is better than the movie.

Sweet my thread has lived on and kept my legacy alive!

I have been watching "Under The Dome" the TV series. Recently watched all of Scandal, but towards the end I was ready for it to be over.
