The United States Postal Service will pick up mail left in a residential mailbox with the red flag up. Except some of their employees don't seem to know that. Earlier this week, I had two of the same junk mail in my box, one addressed to me and one next door. I left the wrong one in my box with the flag up. The next day, it was still there, with new mail shoved in with it. The next day, it was STILL there with more new mail shoved in with it. Finally, it was gone the day after that.
