http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/conservation-officer-suspended-for-refusing-to-kill-bear-cubs-1.3141652 All but the Environment Minister Mary Polak seems to disagree with her decision. These baby bears, a brother and sister, were orphaned after their mother had to be destroyed after she had, at least twice, broken into a freezer of salmon and deer meat inside a mobile home on Hardy Bay Road. http://www.campbellrivermirror.com/news/312244861.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Polak |

Signed. I know the adult Momma bears can be dangerous, it's too bad the bear and cubs couldn't have been relocated some where distant, now the cubs have no Mom, She was just trying to find Her babies some food, it's the same in My mind as killing a human mother, Judge Dredd style(Judge, Jury and Executioner, all in 1 person). I'd have said let the bear have Her fill, found a way to make it not repeatable again... ;( The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Maybe there should be more warnings about how to keep food when you are in a bear territory. Here is one who doesn't. How to get to Port Hardy to join your grizzly bear tour. http://www.greatbeartours.com/travelplanning.htm |

I have a friend who used to live in Canada, and she told me at the end of movies in theatres everyone stood up and sang, God Save the Queen. Is she pulling my leg, or is that the truth? The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I flew to Puerto Rico with Eric once and when the plane landed, people clapped. It was just an ordinary landing. There was nothing tricky or scary about it. Apparently it was just the local custom to applaud landings. So it would not surprise me if Canadians used to sing after movies. |

I can't speak for any one else, but I don't recall that ever happening to me. I do most vividly remember singing "The Queen" at hockey and football games. edit: I should explain that what I remember was watching a film clip of the Queen with the music being played and all of us standing for it. I just don't recall if any one was singing. |

I have a friend who used to live in Canada, and she told me at the end of movies in theatres everyone stood up and sang, God Save the Queen. Is she pulling my leg, or is that the truth? We sang that before the first movie of the day, 50 years ago. They used to play cool short films with scenic shots and the words across the bottom of the screen, ending with a picture of a very young Queen Lizzie. How long ago did your friend visit? |

As far as I know, The Star-Spangled Banner has never been played at a Theatre in the USA, though if yer ever at a Ball Park in the 7th inning you'll be asked to stand up, if one can. It's the same song as the UK's National Anthem, just different lyrics, than GSTQ or GTSK.. A bar song, supposedly, which is why so many fail to sing the The Star-Spangled Banner properly..
