My guess is that the 1080 runs with two too. Yup, The price is high. The performace is too. What is low is the power draw. 130-140W all day long. You all can calculate with your electric bills. My question is if I get AP work with the much earlier dead line do I suspend other work to finish these? or does the computer know what needs to be running next? As of late I have stopped all GPU just to get AP's done, is this the right way to do it? I only have an i5 laptop |

My question is if I get AP work with the much earlier dead line do I suspend other work to finish these? or does the computer know It's not necessary, just let it run. If there is an issue with the deadline, it will process that WU in High Priority mode, then go back to processing the others. Grant Darwin NT |

Hi, A question about this - your APs are running Anonymous, as are mine on 1080s. But mine run ~100% CPU of elapsed time in addition, whereas yours are running much less CPU. I would like to know what I am doing wrong, if anyone would hazard a guess. Typical APs seem to run around 1/2 hour on mine; I run 3 WUs/GPU, with no explicit controls on how many APs or MBs, and with no explicit command line, since APs have been so rare until recently. Thanks! |

But mine run ~100% CPU of elapsed time in addition, whereas yours are running much less CPU. I would like to know what I am doing wrong, if anyone would hazard a guess. The answer is simple: configuration, you run the AP with the right software but no optimized configuration, You need to use a command line like this: <cmdline>-use_sleep -unroll 15 -sbs 256 -ffa_block 12288 -ffa_block_fetch 6144</cmdline> Be aware, this configuration is the one for the 1070 (the GPU i have), but could give you a guide. Somebody who runs with a 1080 could post the best configuration in you case. You must do the same with the MB portion. Open Cl builds performance are highly afected by this parameters. |

23 for me so far today... 19 for the GPU and 4 for the CPU. Other than counting them up in the BOINC manager, how do you keep track of how many you get on a given day and your total count? I know I can hit my stats and click on "in progress" AP units, but that doesn't really capture and entire day nor give a total count. Thanks. |

23 for me so far today... 19 for the GPU and 4 for the CPU. Go to Project/Account/Tasks/Astropulse and that will give you all for the last 24 hours. It is easy to count them there by 20's. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

Thanks, Juan! Happy to help when i can. I sugest you to contact Brent he runs a 1080 based host and ask for his optimized configuration. Sure you will be impressed by the difference in performance. But be aware, more output = more heat. So keep an eye on your temps. https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=35997 Some points to remember,: - You need to leave at least one thread free for each GPU WU you where running to feed the GPU. - Check the number of GPU WU you are running at a time on each GPU, not sure if 3 is the best on the 1080, IIRC the best performance with SoG builds is 2. But that you need to check was a long time i don't have a 1080 anymore. |
