I only noticed my completed AstroPulse work units on my account web page under work units. They disappeared the next day. Do you have to check your account page to catch completed AstroPulse work units or is there a better way?

I just check my Account. I've yet to have one disappear that quickly, usually it's a week or so.

EDIT- my cache is less than a couple of days. The longer it takes you to return work, the more likely it will be validated as it's returned, and some time after that removed from the database.

With the last changes to the file on the beta units, 11 tasks were processed. 1 is still awaiting initial validation. For the other 10, 3 validated on first pass, and 7 went inconclusive. Out of those 7 inconclusives, 5 validated and 2 were found invalid. Not perfect, but a lot better considering that before the changes, all units on the RX480 were going inconclusive and then invalid.

What changes exactly?
And better to check such modifications on test cases like those publishedin this threadearlier.
If you have corresponding hardware check them.

Ok, I have figured out how to keep Boinc from detecting the changes to the .cl file and replacing it. Now I just need to get some tasks to check the changes. The changes do increase the run time a little, but since it allows more tasks to be validated, I'll live with the increase.

Just app_info.xml needed for that.

And to those who can build Windows GPU ATi AP (I'm currently not): try to rebuild with OCL_SYNCHED define enabled.
Maybe this would help RX480 issue.

The way to get Boinc to stop replacing the r2572.cl file that was the simplest way. was to turn off checking of file sizes by changing the setting in cc_config.xml. This does leave the client less secure, but I can live with it. The changes to the file were mainly to some define statements to activate the Petri NVidia code which involved changing a couple 512s to 256s. I also changed a some of the kernel sizes. If you would like to look at the file it is available here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArIvftV8roEagXbgN2hVhHdobR4s

Still waiting to get some AP tasks from the main Seti scheduler to see what effect the changes have with real data.
... and still I fear, and still I dare not laugh at the Mad Man!

Would be goodif Karsten Vinding could re-run his offline benchmarks with your modified CL file (don't forget to delete all cache binaries before).

AP's are being split again, grab them if you can.

I've scored 7 so far.

Cheers.

The kitties are snagging some APs too!!
About 18 so far.
It's actually rather curious as we are re-running those '08 datasets that there have been a fair number of AP tasks that were for some reason never split when they were initially processed.

Got my first AstroPulse task today, yipee.

BOINC manager is estimating time to crunch at over four days! Is that because my PC hasn't done an AstroPulse task before and the estimate is way out or do they take that length of time? If so how do I stop BOINC switching tasks - it may as well let it run the task to the end.

Yes it is showing an exaggerated estimate because you havn't done any yet, but they won't take that long to do.

Cheers.

I got 3. Wasn't sure if they were resends or new since I hadn't looked at the names yet. For @David@Home .... if you haven't done any tasks for an application yet, it takes 11 validated tasks of that type before your APR for the app to be calculated and your estimated times to completion to be fairly accurate.

I received 4, each to a different rig, and 3 new files, not resends. The resend was also generated today, error while computing.

And those must also have less than 10% blanking for them to qualify.

For a comparison my two i5 rigs @3.4GHz take around 4.5hrs while my 1060's take 20mins to complete such tasks.

Cheers.

Many thanks, my AstroPulse took around 5 hours 20 mins on the CPU.

Is it just pot luck if an AstroPulse gets allcoated to the GPU or CPU?
