Message 1893549 - Posted: 6 Oct 2017, 2:29:49 UTC - in response to Message 1893546.

I never get an AstroPulse GPU workunit. Do these exist?

Is my app_config stopping AstroPulse GPU workunits? It contains:

<app_config>
<app>
<name>setiathome_v8</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1.00</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>1.00</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Do I need to add another set for AstroPulse? If so how do I ensure only one work unit at a time, either normal setiathome_v8 or Astro Pulse is crunched on the GPU?

If you didn't have your computer/s hidden we'd be able to help you much better. ;-)

Take a look at my computers and you'll see that nothing personal is shown, but it will help greatly if we could could see yours to help.

Cheers.

Are you running stock or the installer? If you are using the installer, then you should rerun it and make sure you include Astropluses in your selection. If you are running stock, it's a luck of the draw. This is my app_config.xml It's slightly more complex.

<app_config>
  <app_version>
    <app_name>setiathome_v8</app_name>
    <plan_class>opencl_nvidia_SoG</plan_class>
    <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
    <ngpus>1</ngpus>
  </app_version>
   <app_version>
    <app_name>astropulse_v7</app_name>
    <plan_class>opencl_nvidia_100</plan_class>
    <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
    <ngpus>1</ngpus>
  </app_version>
</app_config>

Well my i5 died happily crunching AP tasks :(
RIP

Now if <i could just get this damn HD to boot up in something else.
My Linux boxes won't even mount the disk ... ??? Some reading to do.
I miss my BoincTasks already.

So it's the HD that died and not really the i5?

Looks like the kitties snagged about 55 APs during the last splitting runs with 7 rigs in the hunt.
Meow, kitties!

I still have the same problem of not getting any AP's, when the computer is shut down.

Yeah, I have never had much luck with zero-power computing on Seti either.
Meow.
