No. It's no new behavior. And she does urinate outside.
But the big job happens when we are not looking and places that is hard to locate.
I think we will try to see what Cesar Milan says about it.

I think there are sprays that can be used to train puppies to do their business in one area (preferably lined with old newspaper - which you then move, over a few days, until it is outside - before then weaning them off the newspaper). I've never used them though - just loads of patience and plenty of praise when they hit the mark on untreated newspaper :) Moving her "presents" onto some paper and then being very very happy to see it there, might help her get the idea? :)

The younger they are when you start, the better. Friends of ours have recently got a puppy, who is utterly adorable - but also utterly unhousetrained. Because she's a tiny breed - they don't seem to have a problem cleaning up after her so are making no effort to persuade her to change her ways. She goes everywhere with them - so they may come up against some less tolerant views in the future.

Good luck!! :)

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

LSM has some of that spry here, she got it
years ago for the obvious reasons. I must say
it works very well indeed. I haven't gone any
where but the toilet for years now!

edit:
It is amazing the things you
can get now for all sorts of jobs...

Finally caught Tosca in her act.
After beeing out for 2 hours she did it on the carpet inside!
I told her with a harsh voice not to do it here.
We will see how that worked.

Dogs do use "present piles" to mark their territory. She may for some reason, be picking up a scent whilst out that is making her feel too intimidated to do her business outdoors. If there is somewhere she has relieved herself whilst on a walk in the past, try taking her back to the same spot at the start of the walk. If she does either one of her "businesses" there, do what is suggested in the above link and then praise her LOADS (give her a treat too if you have some on you) only THEN go for the long walk.

She won't understand the scolding as well as she would quiet, (sadly disappointed) ignoring for awhile. She's done what she did to tell the world and whatever it is that is worrying her outdoors - that THIS is where she lives and they're not welcome here. You need to try thinking like a dog - rather than a human :)))

edit: One of my dogs used to do ALL his business in the garden under my washing line. In his head, he was "protecting it" for me :/

another thought: this might get you into trouble though - but you could try taking one of her "accidents" with you and putting it somewhere where you walk regularly so that she gets some "courage" from it.

Thanks for the link.
I know that Tosca is intimidated to do her business outdoors.
But it's a problem that so many kids want to play with her.
My new tactic is to give her a treat when she does it outside.

Not only me Annie. The whole neighborhood loves her.
Even muslims smiles when they see her.
Especially muslim girls aged 3 to 10.
But many of the boys are afraid of Tosca.
I and the girls use to joke about it:)

I'm looking for one of mine.

But here's one the owner posted not long after Tess moved to her happier place:

From the back of their boat, over mine - yes the rainbow bridge was in place for her

Indeed.
And I hope you have many fond memories of dear Tess, as I do of the kitty folk that I have had the opportunity to love while they graced this earthly plane with their kind presence.

Protodog is a classic and remarkable cartoon character that is a cross between a dog and dinosaur.
