Coffee time here too Wiggo. But here it's much cheaper to just drink coffee, plus we smoke so "healthier" gets thrown out anyway Julie. ;-) Time for another rum before dinner. Cheers. |

Now what beer would you choose to go with that? If a homebrew wasn't allowed then for me it'd be a Tooheys New here. :-) I had a good arvo down the bottom pub in the sun with a few mates & C.W.#1. :-D But now I'm all beered out, so it's Rum O'clock. ;-) Cheers. |

Now what beer would you choose to go with that? An I.P.A. would seem to be appropriate. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Most of my view from here is just grass, trees, hills and then more of the same for as far as the eye can see. Now what beer would you choose to go with that? The mind is a weird and mysterious place

Most of my view from here is just grass, trees, hills and then more of the same for as far as the eye can see. I've been having a go at cooking my first Beef Rogan Josh curry. If it tastes anywhere near as good as it smells at the moment its going to be great. !.5 hours of cooking to go and I'm so impatient. :-) |

Most of my view from here is just grass, trees, hills and then more of the same for as far as the eye can see. But I must stop wishing for a quiet time as since my last post the shed has been more like Central Station down in Sydney. :-( 30mins to go for Beer O'clock, but I think that I'll wonder down the hill and have it. Cheers. |

Nothing like having a coffee while watching the sun rise Monday and it's a good sunrise currently happening here. ;-) Sounds great Wiggo. I dont have any windows in my computer room or any views outside either. But it has its advantages living in the inner city suburbs. |

G'morning everyone, I hope that the beers are well chilled. Hopefully, and with a great deal of luck, I may have a relatively quiet day today for a change so that I can enjoy a few beers. 5hrs until Beer O'clock. Now, time for another coffee. Cheers. |

It is not been okay'd in the USA. But is European countries upscale car headlights are laser. As Dr. Evil famously said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh7bYNAHXxw "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

G'morning everyone, now that today's outrage is over. The housework is all up to date now and I'm just waiting on another laptop to turn up here (it's late getting here) to finish my working day off with. Just under 2.5hrs to go for Beer O'clock and I hope that today's won't be so crowded. Cheers. |

A lot of upmarket vehicles over here are now using LED headlights and out here in the countryside LED driving light bars are very popular for turning night into day. Cheers. |

I tried running CFL in my porch light which I leave on all night. They don't work very well below 20 degrees F. They become very dim. The biggest drawback to LED's is the cost. A big problem with LED streetlight application is the wavelength used which has a lot of blue. This almost triples the effect of light pollution on observatories. The price is still pretty steep on the Christmas lights I want to buy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00827DYV0/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AS0K3MKEU5H24 And you're right about temperature affecting those CFL's. I think some cars must be using LED lights nowadays, because they blind me! The mind is a weird and mysterious place

I think Grant mentioned LED street lights. I don't know if they're switching to those here, but I just started seeing LED bulbs in the store for home use. Seems like it wasn't that long ago when CFL's were the new thing, but I never have liked them because they take time to warm up. Still prefer incandescent's, but I think the LED's supposedly use much less energy and last a lot longer. They've been available out here for a few years now, but the price was hard to swallow in the beginning, though they're now getting closer to what CLF's were back then. Yes, they do last way longer and use way power than CLF's, but you must also get the right colour warmth to suit you and the environment Gordon. ;-) [edit] N/P DG. ;-) Cheers. |
