Sadly, in one sense, you are a "captive" of your landlord. They see you as a "shallow pit" when compared to other residents, and thus want to make all their captives' holes the same depth. On the bright (less dark?) side they have given you a few months notice, and not just hiked your rent by $25, due at the next payment date. The few months, which is nice, is cause of CA law that applies to mobile home park residents, not the park, the park would just raise the rent next month if they could, We can't even contact the park owner, the person who is the nominal manager is I think a renter or tenant and She is not often in the office which is closed most of the time. I can't imagine what the raise is for the tenants. Oh and cause I dogged The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Understood. My point is that once I found myself in the position I did. Had to make changes whether I liked them or not. It got so bad at one stage, that I ceased to exist to the point I couldn't even vote! Since then I learnt big time. Back in 2014 due to EU regs, my grandfather rights ended & if I wanted to continue driving HGV's I had to do their dCPC. Nice chunk of change out of my savings at that time. A few short months after obtaining it, bang, just after Xmas. Bye bye HGV, however I still need the dCpc & Digi tacho as still allowed to drive up to 7.5 ton. Now what I'm about to post will more than likely p off a lot of folks in this country, but I don't give a... ...after all, the law is the law right? :-) Since Spring 2016 I drive 4/5 a month - Privately. A lot of folks move, into either smaller or larger properties & don't like the costs of removals. Much cheaper to hire a vehicle & do it themselves. I move them. ATM, I can earn £120 a week before I have to pay Class 2 NI. £162 or more, Class 4 NI as well. I can earn up to £250 before any tax deductions. What I earn is under all minimums but more than enough for me. :) I "also" get invited to many coffee mornings/afternoons. "Oh Pat" while your here can you look at my computer. :-) The best I've left to last. :-) Got stopped by DSA (Vosa) twice last year. The jobsworths both times called the police. Thankfully, when driving I carry my Iphone with me. Police officer turns up, jobsworth goes LOUD. Just sit there smiling until they finish, switch phone on, go to iBooks app & pull up several documents regarding goods vehicles. A tachograph is not required if vehicle is used for private purposes, i.e. for moving home. :-) The law is the law right? The point is Vic, at some stage, you are going to have to sit down & re-evaluate your income & expenditure. Even though I cannot change what happened, I'm using the "LAW" to its fullest & my savings are increasing, not for the hell off it but because I miss driving regular & want a car - A decent one not any old banger. Get your debts cleared & spend sensibly. Who knows after enough time doing so, you can get a new car. |

Laws can be changed, problem is some don't want to change the laws that hurt some, like getting rid of the burial and insurance limits which make no sense, plus enlarging the savings limit from $2,000/$3,000 to $10,000/$15,000, doing any changes to SSI like I mentioned would not change how many get SSI, since one has to be medically qualified or over 65 to get SSI, so people who are medically qualified spend down under $2,000/$3,000 and they are in, $3,000 is for couples, $2,000 is for single people like Me. Over 50% of those who apply for SSI or SSDI are denied for below poverty level benefits, poverty level in the US is $12,490 a year or about $1,040.84 a month. Now that I fully understand. Here it is/was £9,000 for an individual or £16,000 for couples. A penny over those limits & benefits either cut or not awarded. What started the road to my recovery was a local businessman I know got pulled over. Fortunately he was just under the limit drink wise but he did get disqualified from driving for 3 months due to speeding. Best 3 months ever. Picking him up, dropping him off at work, taking his kids to school, taking his wife shopping. That man & his wife took good care of me. :-) Many knock Asians but they are just like us, hard working decent people. It was him that started the ball rolling as his brother moved to a larger home but baulked at the cost of removals. Since then... :-) I do have to be careful due to a lot of nosey parkers & letter writers out there, but as long as I stay within the law, I don't give a s... I'll make you a promise Vic. I really am a lucky devil & should you start acting sensible & prove it - I ever win a large amount again, I'll send a donation to you. HOWEVER, if that arises, don't try to B/S me, I've seen too much of that in 50 years. |

poverty level in the US is $12,490 a year or about $1,040.84 a month. What you last posted you get per month is very close to that, if you get this SNAP payment as well, you won't be below the poverty level surely?[/quote] $771.00 comes from SSI $160.72 comes from CA and is sent to the SSA to payout to SSI recipients and so far does not get a COLA, a COLA is a Cost Of Living Allocation and on SSI/SSDI/SS benefits is determined once a year around October, last year SSI went from $750 a month in 2018 to $771 in 2019, a 2.8% increase. $771.00*12 months = $9,252.00 + missing benefits to be at 100% of the Federal Poverty Level(FPL) is $3,238.00 or about $269.84 a month. I don't know what it is like to live in Ireland, even though My family was there from 1620-1820, so I won't comment on living there or anywhere that I've had no experience with. From what I read I could apply for Irish citizenship due to ancestry in Ireland(Wexford), but it's not something that I need to do. Vic, I reside in the UK & have done so for 59 years. :-) My bad, you need to change your flag then, it says Ireland, not England. On My mom's side I'm of English descent, though I don't know much about that side. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I can drive a 7.5 tonner box van on a car licence. I did many years ago when I moved house myself. You got that due to "grandfather rights" when they changed the licensing laws in the early 80's. Until then, the HGV license was a separate "little red book" IIRC that covered HGV 3 -4 ton & above, HGV 2 -10 ton & above & HGV 1. They all got merged into the one license with the various categories on it. HGV 3 ceased to exist, but pre Jan 1 1997 all full license holders were permitted to drive up to 7.5 ton. Since that date, a separate C1 test is required for 7.5 ton. |

Sadly no, only just turned 4 at the time, so not strong enough to lift it let alone carry it. :-( Talking of gold. The National Lottery helped greatly over the years. This year is its 25th anniversary, so maybe... ...keep your fingers crossed. I rarely make promises, but when I have I've kept them. TBH Vic, there are times when you royally p me off. However, I know just how hard It can be to dig oneself out of a hole. As long as I'm alive & lucky enough, it would be nice to keep that promise. Just bear In mind that you have to start really helping yourself. Just keep them crossed as 5+ bonus ball now guarantees £1,000,000. :-) Had quite a few 5's over the years, but 5+1 would be great. |

63 the month before. My weekly spend on the lottery is £3.00 £2.00 for one lucky dip ticket on the main one. £1.00 for a lucky dip on Hot pick 2. (£60 if it comes up). Each year that there are wins, the winnings go into the lottery kitty for the year (£156.00). Anything won over the years total cost goes into savings. :-) Looking back on my lotto spreadsheet, due a biggie, so keep your fingers crossed. |

Latching those 3 windows completely, made My gas furnace run less, instead of 12mins, it's now 3mins, of course this is the daytime, so that should eventually drop My gas bill. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

There are two "observations" that seem to stand out to me. Firstly that is a very generous and kind offer from Sirius to Vic of a share of any future winnings. But also it is a carrot being dangled as an incentive upon the basis that it would only happen if Vic started to become sensible about his finances. An offer of a win/win situation if you like. But what I fear is that knowing Vic he won't quite look at it like that. So you think I won't get them? Other people in other states who get SSI get SNAP, didn't you read what was posted? Or do you think it's a lie? I did get an email on this. AB1811 is not a bill in Congress, it's a State Law that was already signed by by the Governor in 2018, since you don't know much I thought I'd fill a hole in your knowledge, and the state legislature is Dominated by Democratic Party Members. Chaptered = Signed into California State Law. REFERENCE: http://www.cdss.ca.gov/Portals/9/ACL/2018/18-90.pdf?ver=2018-07-31-142643-887 As to the 3 windows, you don't know why they were not latched and they are sliding windows behind blinds... 1 was unlatched behind a couple pieces of cardboard and the blinds, the other 2 windows were only partly latched and behind blinds. SNAP... The way the regulations are written is designed to confuse the average humon. The worst case is one could loose SSI and only get SNAP. The regs are in place, but ones entry date into the scheme is far from clear, do you apply a month ahead of the SSI review date, or the month after Regs written in typical beureaxease. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB1811 Assembly Bill No. 1811 This bill would repeal SSP payment reductions for purposes of CalFresh eligibility, and would grant CalFresh eligibility, as specified, to recipients of SSI, SSP, or both as of June 1, 2019, or an alternate implementation date determined by the department that is no later than August 1, 2019. The bill would require a county welfare department to determine continuing eligibility and benefits for households, as specified. By imposing requirements on counties relative to CalFresh, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

By the time I'm 62 I might have enough income to pull this off, there is the possibility of having enough income then as there is a bill that would if passed and signed into law would give Me a much better income(125% of poverty at the very least, instead of what I have now), though I would still not be getting rich, if not well I have the place I live in now and I have no mortgage or loan on it. H.R.860 - Social Security 2100 Act This Bill is valid from now until the end of the 116th Congress and had a Prior version, this version has 203 backers, 204 if you include the author, currently the US House of Representatives has 235 Democratic Lawmakers. Congress does not have anything to do with passing or approving of State Laws in the the US from the 50 States. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
