Another interruption, insects in some oatmeal containers, I tossed one down the drain that was mostly empty, I have 7 more that are suspect, as they were damaged by UPS cause of insufficient packing by Amazon, it was a box and then the 42oz containers full of oatmeal, only 3 didn't burst open and no way to contact Amazon then, too late now, so that means I get to invest in a few Tupperware 20 cup containers that are meant for long term storage, at $24.95 each, from Amazon or some seller on Amazon... Shipping is $2.00 each, no tax is charged and the ones for $24.95 are gift compatible which I looked at out of curiosity. They are small, black and winged, sorry no pics and they aren't flies, just pests, with no oatmeal they can get at, there will be no more of them soon, one way or another, the 7 existing containers are suspect, I have 3 that were not opened, the 7 are going in a trash bag, I do need to take out some trash soon so this just speeds that up some. I thought about it, I have one of these around, not so good for liquids, but for dry oatmeal, I decided I'd experiment, hey it's free, so why not? On Amazon these 2 quart containers are in various colors and are from about $10 to maybe $20 before any shipping, all have a push and release in common, these should keep any insect out... The one in the picture matches mine completely too. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

We call them flour bugs and I am pretty sure they come in the package. I have seen them in unopened packages, sealed in plastic. The only think you can do is catch them in traps, which I do. Once they get into your house there seems to be not way to get rid of them..... Many times, if they have not taken over he item, we just go ahead and eat them as they are killed in the cooking. I'll pass, I just went thru the whole area where they were at, if it was cardboard and not metal or sealed plastic, it's going out, I've got 3 bags out and 2 are ready, no I won't miss the oatmeal, I can buy more when I'm ready, I'm already eating sandwiches for everything outside of dinner, I can store 1 canister as soon as the Tupperware container dries out after I wiper it out of the water that I could see, the other 2 will have to wait some, but then they have no holes at all, so they should be ok and I got all the bugs and I threw out a lot that should have been gone already, but then I have the bags again. Small and black with tan larvae is what I had, yuck. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

The PC migration continues to its new home, I just moved the printer and its heavy box of paper to near its new home, I need to vacuum the box and I moved them as a unit since the printer is set for tractor feed. I now only have 1 shelf left to move, the one with My PC on it. Update: The Panasonic KX-P1124 printer and its paper are on their own shelves, dusty paper and all. My replacement lamp, since it's a clip on, it'll work better than the last one which is broken. I just had to look in the front bedroom and find the lamp, but before doing that I was trying to sit on a bucket, I missed and hit the floor and the carpet and padding broke My fall, I had to use My left arm to get up with since I tried My right arm and I could not budge that way, My left arm was sore from the fall, but I'm ok now. On Monday when there is enough light I'll wire up the new socket and wire to the lamp that I have here, problem solved. Or at least it will when I get a flat sided lamp socket, this clip on lamp and socket don't fit each other. I found a rotary lamp socket that will fit online and I found I'd scrapped My right fore arm some, not enough to worry about. New clip on lamp Lamp with incompatible socket, I hadn't seen this clip on lamp in years... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I was repairing a desk lamp, the desk lamp is mostly done, but of course the maker clamped the wires in instead of tying the wires in a knot, so I'd have to drill that out or cut under the clamp to open the hole up, so for a while I'm without a desk lamp. What's stopping Me? The round part circled in red, I can't get it out. And to transfer My PC to the new desk, at least I have one more item off the old desk. Turns out both lamps can't use the rotary switch that I had bought. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I am curious about something, does anyone here run an X399 Threadripper motherboard from any manufacturer in Windows 7 Pro x64? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I am curious about something, does anyone here run an X399 Threadripper motherboard from any manufacturer in Windows 7 Pro x64? Not me, but I am running New Prometheus on a Gigabyte GA-Z270-HD3 with Intel i7 7700K @ 4.2GHz on Win 7 Pro x64. On this System, Windows Update is now LOCKED!!! It complained that the i7 7700K is "Too New for the OS" and consequently BLOCKED ALL Future Updates - EXCEPT Windows Defender. Otherwise, Win 7 Pro works just as it should. I'm having no issues running BOINC, nor any other Program, including my old games. TL [EDIT:] I did find that I had to Install, (from Gigabyte), the USB 3.x Drivers for USB 3 to work properly, though... TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I am curious about something, does anyone here run an X399 Threadripper motherboard from any manufacturer in Windows 7 Pro x64? Yep same old same old from MS. I do have some news, grain of salt here, I did find some possible all in one drivers that said Threadripper and Windows 7 on the Asrock website that also mentioned they are for both, though the x399 chipset was not mentioned by name, this was under the X370 section, MSI has good boards too. The closest equivalent to Threadripper is 2 E5-2687W v2 cpus on a dual 2011/X79 cpu motherboard, of course the pickings are slim there, like a Supermicro(3-pci-e 3.0 x16) and some Chinese motherboard(2-pci-e 3.0 x16), a Huanan Huananshi X79 Dual cpu motherboard that only supports dual channel mode(48GB max is stated), which is what My current X79 does, though I'd have to see if any of the ram I have now is compatible or not, the cpu compatibility I'm not worried about that. If not, it would mean server ram in the 1866 range which does exist. For either $183 or $216 and $215.99. But not right now, unless I get creative and get a 1050w psu attached 24pin main cable repaired. That motherboard would get Me the equal of a Threadripper 16core/32thread motherboard using 2-E5-2687W v2 cpus. I am curious about something, does anyone here run an X399 Threadripper motherboard from any manufacturer in Windows 7 Pro x64? It can be and has been done. There are chipset drivers for Win 7 released directly from AMD. You should get them from AMD anyway since the package is much smaller than the bloatware packages from the board vendors. You have to slipstream USB 3.0 drivers into the Win 7 installation media since Win 7 never had USB 3.0 support. I am curious about something, does anyone here run an X399 Threadripper motherboard from any manufacturer in Windows 7 Pro x64? I've been trying that, but all I see at AMD's website is Windows 10 drivers and nothing else for AM4, TR4 and X399. I'm looking for chipset drivers, usb I'm not worried about since that is not what I'm after, they're just unreleased from what I read. I found a Threadripper and Windows 7 thread which has some good info and a warning on 4 bad updates from MS to stay away from or you'll get a cpu not supported popup. https://hardforum.com/threads/threadripper-and-windows-7.1947921/page-3

You just install the Windows 7 chipset drivers. Chipset details I read the page there already, the win 7 driver excludes TR4, X399, and AM4, all 3 are supported currently only by Win 10. I downloaded this file Allin1(v17.40.1025).zip from Asrock, it does mention both Threadripper and Win 7 64bit, but I don't know too much beyond that, maybe AMD will change its mind or I'll go X79 Dual cpu instead. Even if the driver details say that X399 isn't supported on Windows 7, there are plenty of people in the X399 forums reporting they are running X399 systems on Windows 7 without issues. So it must be possible. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

So it must be possible. Could it be that default windows drivers are being installed instead? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

On the Huanan X79 motherboards, from what I've seen and heard in a youtube video review of one and this might not apply everywhere, it seems this one X79 is using the H77 chipset and forget about much over clocking, also keep some airflow on that chipset heatsink that's above the cpu, it can get to just above 105C, a fan got that down to about 55-56C.
