Not related to Seti@home, but still one of those goofy things that may be experienced at times.

This problem is for the advanced user only.

I did this thing using Google Chrome.

Having Sky-map active in a tab, I selected an empty space and right clicking the field with the mouse.

If I do the same thing on a referenced object, a new tab is being opened up, containing more information about the selected object.

If rather doing the same thing on an empty spot, I get a selection menu instead.

The choice at the bottom is "Inspect element".

I did so and it opens the built-in debugger which has information about html-formatting codes (tags) and scripts.

From the line in the middle which may list something like "html", "frameset", "frame", "html", "body" and next the details, depending on the code, I have a line below which reads "Console", "Search", Emulation" and "Rendering".

Choosing "Emulation" here gives a box which in fact is a tick box, but perhaps is not that well defined as being such.

So I clicked on this box, thinking it was not such a tick box this time, but instead it was.

Do not try this out yourself!

The point is that I do not need this selection being active, but when pressing F5 in order to refresh the page, I also lost my point of visit.

Also this Emulation selection was still active when checking it out again.

Can anyone perhaps give some advice on how to untick that selection box. I have not made any more selections after ticking this box.

Thank you very much!

To show:
F12
<Esc>

I don't see such a box. Picture?

Thanks, BilBg.

Tried out this right now after having been busy doing other things here until right now.

The set of keystrokes being mentioned here makes you get right at the menu selection for this and the selection for Emulation comes up here when pressing ESC, possibly repeatedly, in order to turn this selection on or off.

You may also access this menu by presssing the triple horizontal bar to the right of the address line and selecting the pull-down menu "More Tools", or similar from there. The menu choice from there is Developer Tools.

There is also a further pull-down menu regarding native language coding selection available there as well, but this menu is not related to the current problem being experienced.

Really, what I did was ticking the box in the Emulation selection, making the whole thing active. I do not need that thing and want to turn it back off.

But apparently there is no option for this. Pressing any of the Reset buttons inside this selection when made active does not help very much.

Apparently this menu choice is a recent patch or upgrade to the browser. Possibly because of this, there is no option for turning off that choice when selected.

Yes, Apparently the way it looks changed:
(not that I ever looked at this place before your post)

I was looking in 'Chrome' 35 - in fact SRWare Iron Portable 35.0.1900.0 / IronPortable.zip from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/srwareiron.mirror/files/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/srwareiron.mirror/files/SRWare%20Iron%2035.0.1900.0/

***

Now in Slimjet Browser Portable 3.0.3 (Chromium 40)
http://www.slimjet.com/en/

... I see this:
* The RED arrow show where to click to Enable/Disable

WOW!

Just tried out BilBg's suggestion to fixing the mentioned problem.

And now it is gone, without me changing any of the settings.

Thank you very much, BilBg!

Appreciate it.
