THIS IS THE LENOVO.

3/5/2015 10:06:05 PM | SETI@home | Finished download of 08dc12ae.13510.2521.438086664206.12.90.vlar
3/5/2015 10:06:05 PM | SETI@home | Finished download of 08dc12ae.13510.2521.438086664206.12.65.vlar
3/5/2015 10:06:05 PM | SETI@home | Started download of 29my12ac.13942.1298.438086664208.12.64.vlar
3/5/2015 10:06:08 PM | SETI@home | Finished download of 29my12ac.13942.1298.438086664208.12.64.vlar

And it immediately showed it downloaded some work. Last night there were still problems with the database and people's computers couldn't fill up their caches. I understand it got better. Although I still see "No work available" messages on my BOINC.

According to the task lists of both of your computers they now have work. However much that is depends on what their cache preferences are. Your Lenovo (whichever of the two that is) shows at least in the log snippet that it uses local preferences, and thus if you want it to have more work, you'll have to adjust the settings there (BOINC Manager->(View->Advanced view->)Tools->Computing preferences...->Network usage).

Do know that the help everyone here gets is from other users.

No. I didn't know.

Since we're all volunteers helping out people with problems, you're shooting yourself in your foot when you them call them names. Because of your earlier frolics, I thought long and hard before I returned to answer in this thread. In my opinion, since you're the one with the problem, you've got to be the most courteous. Telling people off will have them walk away, leaving you still with your problem. Plus it looks bad for others reading this forum, thinking of asking a question. It's not in anyone's interest.

Do also know that the moderators here are other users. They do not work at Berkeley, they cannot check anything at the server if need be
No. I did not know that.

Same thing with the moderators. They are chosen from the active users posting in the upper forums.

It doesn't matter how much you know about the software or your systems. Those of us who selflessly help around here know BOINC inside out, some more than others. We're not out to get you. When we ask specific questions about anything, we expect some form of answer back to then be able to help you further, or immediately tell you where you went wrong.

So, at the moment there is still a database problem. News about that can be found in the Technical News forum. Matt Lebofski (project administrator) made a new thread there explaining what happened this round of breakage and what they're doing to fix it. And giving a clue on how long this may take.

As per my post on March 4 in this thread, everything is back to normal for me.

Thank you!

I've got most things here working on the Extreme. It's getting data, processing it ans returning the processed data...But...I am not getting the SETI grphic displays. I am receiving the rest of the stuff but few of what I consider, the immediate rewards.

Can someone help me with the displays?

It seems that again I cannot get any more new tasks (since about two or three days).

Any known cause? I don't see an announcement anywhere...

Quite simple - not enough "tapes" were loaded before the long weekend and so they ran out before anyone was back in the lab to reload a new batch.

Thanks! (Although I do not understand the "long weekend", as the weekend hasn't even started yet...)

Anyway, I assume we will get new work next week.

Maybe it is something on this list (but I don't know what was meant by "long weekend" either):

I guessing he mistook this last monday for Memorial day, which was actually the week before.

Unless he was referring to a bank holiday which I think falls on the last day of May in Britain.

But that is only a guess.

My buffer is full and has been since late wednesday my time (Sydney Australia )

Have any of you checked to see you have your buffers set right in the pref's .

Are you doing other projects ?

Is the buffer full with other projects units ?

What type of connection do you have , is there a problem with your isp ?

Also you will get a lot more help if you post in the Number crunching thread which is in the Message boards part of the boards not questions and answers
