Seti Beta also contributes to the Project in terms of data crushing or it's just for test?

As far as I know it's just for test, it's never been confirmed whether it's results are used, it's very small scale compared to the Main project, so it's no loss.

when checking computer listings in project
it reports
Android 3.0.8-02825-g9e39b8c

so it is reporting android version.. just not the right one

it did get and process work units before

|| android_d8de5c89 Amazon KFTT - SDK:15 ABI: armeabi-v7a 4.99 5,382 7.4.14
3.0.8-02825-g9e39b8c ||

so one of the updates.. or a change on server side stopped it from receiving work units

That is why I posed the question

The Boinc version I downloaded from the Play Store says that it's finally compatible with Lollipop, but as far I can see I'm not receiving any tasks. I have at least 5 Android devices on Lollipop, but none is working. Bug? If that's the case, why does it say that current Boinc works on Android 5? Hmmm.

Edit: Just saw a post saying SETI@Home itself is not compatible with Lollipop, nothing to do with the Boinc client. Interesting, I didn't know that was even possible.

That's because BOINC doesn't process science for any project. BOINC simply manages the uploads, downloads, and work queues for a project. When you attach to a project, BOINC automatically downloads whatever science applications are required to process work.

Since there is no SETI@home science application compatible with Android 5 yet, you can't get any work until one is released.

My new phone is starting to nag me daily to install the Lollipop updates. Don't know if I can say "later" forever.

Same thing with my Asus/Nexus 7 (wifi only) tablet been bugging me daily for at least 2 month now.
Hope Google does not automagically force install it on me if I have to reboot/power cycle it for any reason.

My new phone is starting to nag me daily to install the Lollipop updates. Don't know if I can say "later" forever.

I was getting that for the Kitkat update. Then I either hit the wrong button once or they decided I was going to get the update anyway. I unlocked my phone & had a "Your device has been updated" message instead of the "There is an update. Do you want to install it now or later" message.

Yeah, that happened to me before with my old phone.

hi Claggy
the seti beta site is a bit vague on how to set up/download test data.

I set up an account over a month ago but can not find how to start.

I have a few android /intel Atom quad core+intel HD gpu tablets crunching collatz conjector as this is the only android x86 project.
(below is 1 tablet's worth of crunching starting in early march)

I would love to split the time with seti@home.

the number of x86 cpu's on Android is increasing and seem much more powerful tham ARM7 cpu's
it must be worth somebody with the experience, giving it some time.

If I knew how I'd help.

In the official Boinc Android app, there is a place where you can manually enter the URL of a project. Touch the top left 3 dashes symbol, then Projects (NOT add project), then the top right 3 dots symbol. That area will become dark blue with barely-visible black text saying to enter the project URL; touch it to get your keyboard. Put in setiathome.berkeley.edu/beta , then enter your Beta account info.

Did anybody try running Seti on the Android M Developer Preview yet? I wanted to test but forgot and after 2 days I went back to Lollipop because the Preview has too much bugs for daily use.
