Message 1638897 - Posted: 8 Feb 2015, 11:55:28 UTC

As I know a lot of info is required to give assistance why this is happening I am giving a Log startup history that should give all my system information.

It seems if BOINC want the CUDA tasks but don't get it.

Any assistance will be appreciated

Well, first off the tasks your computer is downloading at the moment are VLARs which do not go to any GPU at all as GPUs cannot crunch these without lots of problems. But second off, as you can see in the Seti applications page, the only tasks that run on the GPU on a Mac are the Astropulse v7 tasks, and those aren't available, what with their database trouble and such.
So the only tasks your Mac will get at the moment are for CPU.

Message 1639194 - Posted: 9 Feb 2015, 3:30:34 UTC - in response to Message 1638920.

Hi.
I have just installed BOINC on my iMac (Yosemite 10.10.1) and selected SETI@home as the project and ....... nothing.

When I look at the BOINC Manager it says "No work available to process".

In the Add Project section it says SETI@home. If I click on that it goes blue and shows a tick.

I have selected the BOIMC screen saver, but when it activates it just says that there are no tasks.

I have read that there seems to be a problem with the Astropulse (whatever that is), which prevents GPU access but CPU access should be OK.

I have also read something about an "old style" of log on and a "new style" ... errrm, burble, burble, burble.

My Head Hurts!

1) If the SETI software has loaded and is working, apart from a graphical display, how would I know it?
2) Should I give up on SETI on an iMac?

Cheers

Shortly after you posted your machine downloaded 12 work units (wu) so you should be processing them now.

Seti will use your CPU for the both Multibeam (Seti@home v7) and Astropulses(APs)(If and when they become available).

Your GPU will be used only for Astropulses (again if and when).

There are currently no application programs for the MAC version of Multibeam(MB)

Welcome.

Hopefully one of these days we will get some test versions of the MB so we can get started on them.
