Sometimes I think I have too much patience with Yoko. Lisa is so quick in understanding everything and Yoko 'takes advantage' of her 'introvertness' I always feel like helping her and carrying her, but I should let go, she gives me signs for it. I was actually mad at her earlier!! :'( rOZZ Music Pictures |

If I happened to become impatient with someone, I likely would lose my temper as well. |

We class the Colonials as Honorary Brits so you pass muster. Here in the colonies we have great patience for foggy Brits forced to endure their closeted existences back there in the 1850s! (Or so I heard...) :):) (I knew that would throw him...) |

Patience varies by a magnitude dependant upon time of the month - from hours to milliseconds. Rev Mother Bene Gesserit. Sent from my PDP11/05 running RSX-11D via an ASR33 (TTY) |

(But I don't count not being a Brit. Commonwealth with the Queen as head of state close enough?) Referring to a Texian as an Honorary Brit - no patience |

My patience levels are proportional to how much i'm being paid in that situation. Dealing with an undergraduate student who can't get the hang of even the most basic of practical lab techniques. Payment, £23/hour. Patience, 1 hour. Dealing with a half-blind first year to whom i've been assigned in order that he doesn't do anything dangerous whilst in the lab. Payment, £29/hour. Patience, 3 hours. Waiting for a bus to get me to work. Payment, -£2.20. Patience, nil. Waiting for a meal in a restaurant. Payment -£20 Patience, -10 minutes, i'm hungry dammit! Waiting for a meal in a restaurant with screaming children Payment -£20 Patience, -1 hour, boiling fury! Of course, being British, i never actually say anything in the last three situations. I just quietly seethe and write a stiffly-worded letter in my head that will never be posted. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

How long does the average Brit’s patience last? Mine would vary somewhat from those figures, but I don't have the patience to detail them all. Plus my own You got me beat! David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Of course, being British, i never actually say anything in the last three situations. I just quietly seethe and write a stiffly-worded letter in my head that will never be posted. I do that too. Must be my British heritage coming through. Or else I've been influenced by too much British culture.
