I have about a hundred questions about that. I will ask them one at a time. Are you ready?

The thing that really tries my patience is getting on the highway. They make the damn ramps so you can accelerate to get up to speed so you can merge onto the highway at the same speed. I cant tell you how many idiots I have been behind trying to merge at 45 MPH when the highway speed is 65 MPH.
Another trying thing is your at a light That has a left or right turn arrow. Its a short light to start with, But some turtle human hybrid is afraid he might flip his freaking car over at two MPH taking the corner. So if your lucky two cars might make it through the light. I dont know which one irratates me the most.

Well, whatever you call it, I've been told the expressway system here in Louisville wasn't generally thought out too well. ~The ramps(or slips) were kind of built on the fly, sort of like, well, let's put an interchange here, without any real consideration given to mergability.

James, you are lucky if they are doing 45 on the ramp. For 6 years I worked in a small town just east of London, next to a freeway, that has two sets of ramps, at either end of the downtown. The quickest way to get across the town was to bypass downtown on the freeway. At least once a week I would spot a local on one of the on-ramps, stopped at the end of the ramp, waiting for a break in traffic to get on the freeway. Then they would drive at about 45 mph (speed limit is 60 mph) to the next ramp.

And I have no patience for old world people that think they own the English language. We share it, just like we share our Queen.

Gordon, I think freeway design has evolved over the years. We used to live close to the QEW, the oldest divided highway in Canada, with some stretches dating back to the 1930s. Some of the old on-ramps were incredibly short. The original designers figured traffic was light enough that you could get up to 30 to 40 mph on the ramp, and then do the rest of your acceleration on the freeway itself. Just about all the old ramps have been replaced with much longer ones over the last 30 years.

They seem to be getting away from the cloverleaf interchange design, too.

Yes, it runs from the National Igloo all the way to the Yoknapatawpha River. They have promised us street lights, as soon as we get electricity. It is hard to be patient, waiting for that.

I was really hoping for lines down
the middle of that paved road....
Oh well, I suppose motor cars for
our higher earners would be fine for now.

edit:
Our Dear Leader Mr. Harper says we will
have air conditioning for the National
Igloo just as soon as the price of oil
come back up!
You know who I'm voting for eh?

I get really irritated when I'm in line to turn left, waiting for the arrow to come on, and two or three cars from my right make their left turns as the light changes, and then one more that clearly was NOT in the intersection when the light turned red for him sneaks through too!

Chris, my patience with your impatience over use of the English language is beginning to wear thin. Our use of ramp for a highway entrance/exit clearly fits within the main definition of the word, much better than your term fits its main definition. We have learned over the years that when you say lift, you mean elevator; other than that, the only noun lift we know is an elevator shoe, or maybe a shortened term for a forklift. The truck you pictured is a flatbed tilted for loading.

Who there fella. The way Chris talks is not his fault.
The poor man has enough trouble being understood when he
is speaking to people who live less than twenty miles
away from his home. Just think how it is for him when
he must attempt to educate the rest of the world with
the wonders of English civilization.
(Don't say any thing to him, you will hurt his feeling.)

Up the British!
