Oh boy, miracles will never cease to amaze me... Well it's about time we outsourced our "antiquated" leaders as they're stuck in a timewarp circa 1715 :-) |

Now it's getting silly... ...I held a party last weekend & gave away free pizzas & drinks, so will there be allegations against me for attempting to seduce my guests as they were mostly female? "A UKIP candidate is to be questioned over allegations he tried to influence voters by giving away sausage rolls at a party event." Had they charged for them, it could of course be labelled "Party Donations" :-) Report |

There will be no new runways at Heathrow on my watch - David Cameron There will be no increase of tuition fees on my watch - Nick Clegg These are just two examples of those politicians who set themselves up to ridicule. Then there is your constant ridiculing of Nigel Farage & others so what is good for the goose is good for the gander. No need to play nice. We are extremely mild compared to the viciousness of those that govern us. I am sure that those who need to be aware of that comment will be noting it. I am quite sure that you still want this board shut down, so the best way to do that is to leave it yourself & let those who you dislike prove to the project admin that your views are indeed correct. |

There will be no new runways at Heathrow on my watch - David Cameron My sister lived in Hounslow very close to the Airport. I can tell you. The trafic is probably the highest in Europe. Not so noisy but you always smelled the jet engine fuel. The only noise was when the Concorde came from Paris about six o'clock. |

All that is wrong with party politics today... "Katie Ghose, chief executive of the Electoral Reform Society, said: ‘The fact that we can firmly predict the outcome of over half of the seats being contested this May is a sorry indictment of our outdated voting system." Do you live in a safe seat? ...nope, mine is marginal & currently controlled by the Tories, but not for much longer :-) Oh, & for the Mail haters... ERS |

You know it's an election year when... Tories "pledge" £8bn to the NHS ...in the previous year alone, many A&E departments closed. Seems the Tories have imitated Nick Clegg in doing turnabouts. LibDem proposal Good luck with that one. |

You know it's an election year when... and how well will the NHS work when Nigel Farage kicks all the hard working immigrants out of the country that do all the nasty low paid work that the British won't do? Reality Internet Personality |

I've heard similar reasoning over here... it seems that we are not that different, after all. What is the source of this attitude in the UK? |

People need someone to blame for their problems. Immigrants are an easy target. Reality Internet Personality |

and how well will the NHS work when Nigel Farage kicks all the hard working immigrants out of the country that do all the nasty low paid work that the British won't do? With the much needed benefit cuts & reforms, they'll have to return to work. It's nice to see that they are actually tightening up on that "free-for-all" atm known as ESA. Had one only this week - Been on ESA for 4.5 years, single man occupying a 6 bedroom house & getting housing benefit? Got informed on Monday that his ESA has stopped & that he is deemed fit to work. Contacts me on Tuesday asking for help to get back into the transport industry. Do so & got him an interview at a major global distribution company for 11:30 Wednesday morning. I left at 11:10 to turn up at that interview & apologise for his non-show. arrived home at 11:45 only to be told he turned up at 11:25 (it is a 15 minute minimum drive to interview location). A British "couch potato"? No a Portuguese who has been resident in this country for 24 years - in that time, his total "legal" working time has been just 2 years. What was even more scarier was his driving license. I've known him 15 years & often seen him driving HGV's. To accommodate him with work, I needed to see his driving license - HE has only the one category on it - Car. So calling the British too lazy to do low paid work is OTT, there are many still doing so. Oh & the case I've mentioned is not an isolated one, there are too many doing the same, so the question is: - Where does one draw the line? |

.. You've heard all these cases of benefit scroungers, and I've heard even more cases of genuinely disabled people dying because of these draconian benefit cuts and the hoops disabled people now have to jump through to get the help they need. I think you are being played. The cure is going to be far worse than the problem and by the time you realise it, it will be too late. Reality Internet Personality |

.. Sorry? Heard? I've actually witnessed it. I know of over 70 cases alone in this city. It's amazing what one finds out doing home deliveries & working in homes as an I.T. technician. Edit: Dying due to cuts? It's much worse than that. I've attended 7 funerals since last April. All hard working Brits who despaired of the welfare system, yet who saw those very same types of cases I've personally witnessed. Edit 2: Make that 69 cases as one got kicked off the system & rightly so. |

Same as here, then. It seems that more than just the USA needs an... attitude adjustment. Why is it that it seems that all immigrants are automatically assigned to the 'sh*t-job' category in many people's minds? Why is it that it seems that all native-born are somehow 'too good' to do these 'sh*t' jobs? They are not, and they are not. My Father-in-law's current wife is from Kenya. She was a businesswoman there, she became a businesswoman here. She then furthered her education and got a real nice high-paying job. Then she became a naturalized US Citizen. She didn't do any 'sh*t' jobs to my knowledge, not even briefly. My first job (paycheck, taxes withheld, the whole 9 yards), a bit over 40 years ago, was doing agricultural work. Tended a herd of cows, also tended a field full of crops. Picked them. You ever pick several acres of black-eyed peas? By yourself? And that was just one of the crops. Hard, backbreaking work, long hours. But I did it, gladly. Later, in between better job opportunities, I have done janitorial work. Including scrubbing toilets. Also, I have at times worked as a busboy and a dishwasher. All three sectors seem to be associated with immigrants (especially, in the USA, the illegal ones). All nasty, low-pay, hard work. I am not too good for it. But back to the subject of the thread. I can't find the URL now, but about a week ago I saw an article in the UK press (or at least I think it was), comparing the UK parties to their equivalents in the USA. I believe I learned a few things from it. I look forward to the results of the UK elections. Since we are not all that different in the USA, especially since we have much of our cultural roots in the UK, perhaps the UK results will give some indications on how our elections next year might go. |

+1 One does what one has to, to keep the wolves from the door, regardless of culture, colour, religion or nationality. Working the land & on piecework is not pleasant. |

Back to England because right now my GF are watching "Are you smarter then a 5th grader?":) The question is about UKIP's main pledges "Scrap Sex and Relationship Education for children under 11" How is a Child born? Meaning PG 11:) They got help from children about 4 to 6 olds. Meaning PG 4-6:) |

Back to England because right now my GF are watching "Are you smarter then a 5th grader?":) If you leave sex education until kids are actually starting puberty it is probably too late. If they are old enough to ask, they are old enough to get some sort of answer. Reality Internet Personality |
