Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, whose party opposed the net migration target, said the figures were "very embarrassing for the Conservatives". "They made a huge fanfare about it and they were warned, warned by me and others privately don't do this it doesn't make any sense," the deputy prime minister told LBC radio. Hmmn, who to believe? The Prime Minister or his underling? the figures were "disappointing" and blamed a rise in EU migration - and Lib Dem "constraints". |

Warming up nicely... Politics Live on the BBC 10:43 "Turning to Europe, Suzanne Evans says the UK is "more than just a star on someone else's flag" - she says she wants to see the country "freed from the demands of a decaying and deluded EU". She recites a list of prime ministers since Ted Heath, and says: "By one treacherous treaty after treacherous treaty they handed power that should still be vested in parliament, in Westminster, in the people of Britain, over to Brussels." And she adds that Labour and the Conservatives are the true parties of "little Englanders" - UKIP "aren't the ones who want to stay in the shadows jumping at Frau Merkel's every command"." "10:56: Andy Bell, 5 News political editor tweets: Ed Balls on my train to Leeds for fees announcement "you won't have wasted your journey" he says #GE2015" Tuition fee cuts? |

Apparently half the yanks like Farage. US Republicans see Nigel Farage as 'serious and viable candidate who can run England in the near future' Stop the planet, i want to get off. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Apparently half the yanks like Farage. I thought you said the Lib-Dems with Farage as leader would do okay :-) |

I thought you said the Lib-Dems with Farage as leader would do okay :-) I did, but now that the Republicans have shown interest i'm not so sure. Nice to see you're paying attention though. :) I don't think that poster is a good shot either. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Thank you for being true to form. It would have been a +1 but for the above, therefore a well deserved - -10. It's why I will continue to rubbish the pillocks that occupy both houses! It is as you say, a well known famous landmark yet time is passing & nothing is getting done to protect it... ...they do know how to fiddle their expenses though! |

The Unions would never allow it. Don't you mean "Union leaders" as the ordinary members do have "some" intelligence otherwise why have you renewed your membership? |

I continue my Union membership because I believe in collective bargaining, they have a good pensions advice helpline, and a generous death grant. That was obvious, especially to another union member. You have often harangued others for generalising, so be specific in future & defer from labelling others. By doing that, there are times, such as this one, where you lump yourself in amongst those you label! How does it feel to be a useless union muppet that won't allow a famous landmark to be saved? |

OMG there is justice sometimes. Mitchell was a nasty foul mouthed son of a bitch that behaved above his station. Good for that PC. In future they should install microphones and recorders on the gates. I'm still dubious. Only two people really know what happened, and it will remain that way. This line amused me: Weighing up the competing claims, the judge said PC Rowland was "not the sort of man who would have had the wit, imagination or inclination to invent on the spur of the moment an account of what a senior politician had said to him in temper". Basically, the policeman in question is too thick to have made it up. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

How does it feel to be a useless union muppet that won't allow a famous landmark to be saved? It is more likely to be funded under a Tory government than a Labour one that is for sure. The Unions would never allow it. Another one who runs a party down due to union power, yet, at the same time avail themselves of those union benefits. |

Now, while i agreed with Cameron for insisting that the Greens should be included if UKIP were, this latest turn seems rather petulant! David Cameron scared of TV election debates, say rivals David Cameron's political rivals have accused him of running scared after saying he will only take part in one televised debate ahead of the election. Downing Street has rejected a head-to-head clash with Ed Miliband and said the PM will only take part in a debate featuring seven party leaders. I was listening to this unfolding on Radio 4's Today programme this morning, Paddy Ashdown popped up to say that if Cameron doesn't want to debate with Miliband then Clegg would be happy to fill in. Others have suggested that if Cameron fails to show up then it should be Ed Miliband and an empty chair. I'm not sure about that second option, i think the empty chair stands a pretty good chance! Cameron was all in favour of debates five years ago. In fact i remember him using words like 'essential' to describe them. They were all set to go, strange he should be running now, Cameron had gotten the greens involved, albeit with the consequence of the SNP and Plaid Cymru being involved too. I wasn't sure about that, to be involved in a national debate, surely one should be a national party. What's Plaid Cymru going to say on questions about HS2 and the like? Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

You do delight in trying to twist peoples words around to suit your own agenda, when on the back foot. You mention this many times on your posts regarding quite a few posters. Care to tell one & all what "our Agenda's" are? You cannot see anything anyone posts without slipping that "word" in your replies. Are you that far gone in that you cannot believe people can call it as they see it without an agenda? You really do like the sound of your own words. There is a lot wrong with this country, & it's mainly too many like you in the wrong positions of authority. This is not Victorian times & it's about time you entered the 21st century as your comments on the rape thread has shown - For a man of your maturity, that's sad. |

Don't forget all that lovely exercise delivering your mail or your early morning pint. So delivering milk at 4am or post at 8am (when we had a useful mail system) is not useful to society? What damned planet are you living on? |
