Its a beautiful sunny day and my oldest boy has decided to clean up the "man-basement" before he brings his new girlfriend over to visit. I can hear him swearing and cursing as realises just how disgusting him and his step-brothers are. lol. Reality Internet Personality |

My man cave is a two bed semi detached house, but then i am a bachelor. LOL....I can relate to that. I happen to live in a whole-house man cave myself. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

Currently a large part of our living room floor is taken over by a collection of cardboard boxes connected by tunnels that my husband created for the cats. Its been that way since Christmas. I think it will stay that way for a while yet. My "sewing room" is a folding table I bring out. I used to have space for it in the living room, but now it is taken up by the new cat play area. My wife has transit rights, to reach the lower basement and the beer fridge. I can refill it myself, or wait till hell freezes over (so I've been told). Which makes me think of nomenclature (pardon the thread drift). The "beer fridge" holds a lot more than beer, but everybody I know in North America knows exactly what I mean when I use that term. Same with the "man cave", my wife has a lot of books and DVDs on the shelves, even the two grown and moved on kids left some books behind. But still it is the "man cave". Similarly we have a "living room" and a "family room". The family lives in both, from time to time. Reminds me of the old Firesign Theatre sketch, where the butler tells a visitor that they can wait in the sitting room or sit in the waiting room. One that may be unique to us is the name we give to the attached garage when it becomes the overflow cool food storage area around Christmas time. We call it "the walk in fridge".

That notice is on the landing, the skull & crossbones is on the first door. No mortal has dared to venture further. |

Wow, your very own no-mans land. Is there a sign at the top of the stairs reading "There be dragons here!" ? What? Not the usual "Abandon All Hope. All Who Enter."

My man cave is a two bed semi detached house, but then i am a bachelor. Surprising how stuff just tends to pile up - not litter, that goes in the bin - stuff like cardboard boxes, old instruction manuals, trinkets waiting to find a home. Then every few months i have to attack it with a shovel, another box of the useful stuff goes in the attic, and the binmen wonder why my regular one recycling bag has suddenly grown to seven. This probably goes some way to explaining why i'm still a bachelor. :) Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge.

I haven't been upstairs since Christmas morning... and on the few occasions my daughter and my sister have returned from there... they've had a... hunted expression in their eyes... I'm thinking of never going up there again... :) |

We have to stick together here lads. As we all know, that jar of assorted old washers we've had since 1984 will definitely come in handy sometime, and that MSDOS 5 manual will be a collectors item one day worth money. Right? OK, hands up all those here that have lost a spare bedroom that has become a "sewing room" for the lady of the house? The fact that not much sewing seems to go on appears to be irrelevant to the matter. sticks hand up .... |

Our whole house is a damn man cave. Its full of men and I am a lone female trying to carve a space of nice pretty things amongst a sea of beer cans and dirty socks. :'( I think ES that I can relate to that a little bit. When My Grandsons visit its like that Jeremy charcater in the Zits cartoon. They seem to destroy the guest room in minutes. I guess their Idea of a man cave is clothes and bedsheets thrown asunder and soda cans and chips bags dispersed willy nilly. Drives me crazy. [/quote]Old James |

Maybe Eric is working on an anti-spider computer habitation device and requires the old computers for testing. If such is the case, and it tests successfully, and Eric patents the device and then makes billions of dollars off of it, you will be the first person I invite to visit us on the private island I will buy with all of Eric's lovely new money!!! |

Is it in the early stages of hoarding? Can it be cured??? Maybe Eric is working on an anti-spider computer habitation device and requires the old computers for testing. Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club.

I just drape flowery tablecloths over the worst of it and hope no one notices. Reality Internet Personality |
