I do know that the pattern on the bottom of glass bottles is to reduce the surface area of the glass in contact with it's "transport" at the bottle producers. Preventing it cooling down too quickly and cracking :) Cheers :)

I'd like to take a tour of a facility to see how they melt that stuff down.

We used to take our empty soft drink bottles back to the grocery for some change, and after awhile you could really tell the old bottles - they were all worn on the edges.

A pub nearby did that with their bottles, the old ones ended up with two rings on them, one on the top and one on the bottom where they had weathered many drinking sessions :) Cheers :)

Coke bottles used to have the bottling city embossed on the bottom. I don't know if beer bottles ever did that.

Sure, I do, too, but I still see people trolling the alleys here, picking out cans, so there is some $ to made. I think some states still offer a little change back on returned bottles.

The physio progresses well but as she says it is a learning curve knowing between when it is supposed to hurt a little bit, to when you should stop there. Her daughter was staying with her for some time, but now her sister, a trained nurse, is coming down for a few days. The meds are making her eyesight a little fuzzy so not condusive to keyboard typing just yet.

As before she sends her very best wishes and still misses you lot :-)
