I have two televisions. A 27 inch tube and a 26 inch HD plus (1200p). The tube is my daily watcher. The HD is on my number cruncher. Not trying to beat the Johnson's on my tv viewing. |

Well I must say the old 200 LB TV needed to go but a a bit tight on spending money since I do have to eat. :)) I only have 1 TV and in my bedroom it's sleep time only. No I'm not a big numbers cruncher but I do okay, I wish I could do better but the world will do okay if I don't. Like I said I don't keep up with the Johson's. I don't have a television at home........ Just my 30" Acer computer monitor. So, I can watch DVDs, no BlueRays though. And always Youtube or streaming. Sound is from a little JBL 3 piece set that I bought many years ago... I guess that's why I enjoy so much going over to watch BlueRay movies with Lori on her 70" Sharp LED set. The cost of the 57" was $1,100.00, plus $400.00 for shipping, except for buying lamps, it has cost Me nothing, no repairs at all, it's the best $1,500.00(£983.89 if bought today, instead of in late 2006) I'd ever spent. Not bad for something that I bought on ebay. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

70" ??? why does she need a 6 foot wide television, does she live in a very large mansion ? A very nice house... And the living room is large enough to accommodate it nicely. It's as large as she would ever go though. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

And you thought it was the NSA that you had to worry about.. http://www.cnet.com/uk/news/samsungs-warning-our-smart-tvs-record-your-living-room-chatter/ |

And you thought it was the NSA that you had to worry about.. While we have a Samsung SMART 65" 3-D TV; it either doesn't have voice features, or they are turned off. No microphone has ever been seen on our TV screen. Even if our TV had the voice feature(s), we would NOT use them. So, our family's privacy is still intact. TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Is it possible that by turning the command feature off the TV may still be listing to what is going on in the room? |

So far the Mitsubishi won't admit their firmware update did any harm, the TV only sees 95 channels with or without the CableCard plugged in now, Mitsubishi thinks the card died, the card was working before the firmware was flashed and had not been removed or touched at all during the process, if the card had died, it stands to reason that the TV would be dead too. Along with the CableCard slot which their .04 firmware Bricked, the .00 firmware mostly worked, though it would add channels and sometimes not change channels until the tv was reset, the new firmware also adds channels, I did get a $10 Yellow/White Kingston 8GB usb memory stick out of it, I called Mits at the phone numbers here. So I have a useless cable card slot and useful usb card, does not sound like much of a fair trade, Mits wants Me at My expense($105 for a trip charge by Midway Appliance in Victorville, which is about 45-50 miles away, and an unknown amount to examine the TV, all of which I don't have, Mits caused this, I've suffered harm) to have the local Mits dealer come out here and examine the TV or have TWC examine the TV, TWC has said no to that, as they are not equipped to test the two TWC Scientific Atlanta CableCards that I have, so they refuse to send anyone. Of course I can't call them now, My phone is out of minutes, so I have to wait until March 1st 2015 to get My phone service back and that's $35 then, I've switched plans from 400mins for $20 to Unlimited Talk for $35 a month, the new plan starts on the 1st, until then if I wanted to use the phone I'd have to pay an amount of $21.60 to get another 400 mins and pay for the calls that went past the 400 min limit, I don't even have $4 in My bank account. From what I've read about the voice activated TVs the problem can be third party cookies, downloaded to the TV when you visit certain web sites through the TV. These cookies have been collecting usage data and transmitting it to the creator of the cookie for years, with the computer owner usually being totally unaware this is going on. The concern is that on these TVs the third party cookies could capture and transmit any sound reaching the TV. Chris is doing the right things to prevent this, but I wonder how many other people are? |

In a sort of related kind of way. In cars the "On-Star" feature can be compromised in the same way. A few years back I was listening to a news report on the radio about the FBI I believe it was. They used the On-Star microphone as a listening device in a vehicle. |

One thing I noticed is My TV will add phantom channels, even though I'm not scanning for channels, My TV is acting weird, on the 27th if the box is still there on ebay, I'm buying that Samsung 530 box for $110.23 and an extra 150w tv lamp for $23.99. 70" ??? why does she need a 6 foot wide television, does she live in a very large mansion ? It's hard to explain but once you have seen a 90 foot by 7 story movie, nothing on the small screen is the same. |

70" ??? why does she need a 6 foot wide television, does she live in a very large mansion ? Computer screens aren't the same either after using a wall projection system. When you have a 8 foot verticle screen. A little postage stamp screen is hard to go back to. |
