Just a thought...

Shut down, after sufficient notice, Seti@Home.

Then they take their time, not having to attempt to keep a broken system running, and FIX THE PROBLEM(S).

Just a thought ...

Why don't you shut down, do us all a favour.

WHY... I'm getting lots of SETI and BETA both are getting MB and AP WU. I just let BOINC do it's thing. It get what I need to feed my GPU but then I also run a handful of CPU projects as well.

I know it's traditional to have a fight at Christmas but lets try not to, otherwise nobody is getting any sprouts with their Christmas meal.

Merry and Happy everyone. I have been trying to update for 3 weeks and it keeps looping to 'communication deferred'. What is the solution?

I see tasks on both of your machines on your account. Not sure what solution you're looking for.

Many AP channels being split are also erroring out now.

EDIT- to add to that, MB splitter output has almost halved, so the ready-to-send buffer is falling & we should be out of work in the next 18-24 hours.

That should be OK, most peple have a 7 day buffer.

Define "most people," because to me a 7 day buffer is a little overboard. Mine's set to the default, but I also have numerous projects.

I was wondering why the database ran out of results. You guys are really taking a beating lately, but you're doing a good job keeping the project alive. :D

I looked after I posted this and I'm set for a 7 day buffer, but my 200 WU limit only lasts 3 - 3.5 days.

It looks like they have their results creation rate up to a point where they are make some good gains - Should be seeing some results start to build up for crunching. If the stats are right, this is the most results AstroPulse has had out since early October.

WTG guys!

And a happy New Year's Eve for tomorrow, to all for 2015.

And I plus one that. Jeez its only work units. When they run out crunch for another worthy project. Or power down and save on your next power bill.

Io da un sito vicino a Milano non ho alcun problema. Perche' non hai scritto qualcosa in Italian Cafe, un thread che cerco di mantenere vivo senza alcun aiuto da altri italiani?

SETI has been up and running for a while now. Your computer even has work assigned to it and even returned a workunit today.

It appears that the root partition filled on marvin (rapidly) while I was AFK, for no reason that I am aware of, which caused it to crash. Nobody is at the colocation facility right now, so the astropulse DB is down. I'll try to get remote accesses for a reboot, but chances are that marvin is down until monday morning.

Are they Seagate hard disks? You might want to consider Toshiba? :)

I use Seagate exclusively and don't typically have any problem. Every manufacturer has a bad batch now and again, and some people will be affected more than others.

A brand of disk drive that never fills up; I want one of those!

I remember thinking that I'd never fill up my first 20 megabyte drive when I upgraded my IBM PC that had dual 360K floppies. Once I got it half-way full, I then thought I would never get finished doing a backup to those floppy disks.

My Olivetti-AT&T UNIX PC has a 40 MB disk and one 5 1.4" floppy drive at 300 kB. One full backup measures 30 floppies, of which the first is unreadable. Sigh.
