I just saw a ad for a new "hunting" knife that folds up to the size of a credit card. The ad included showing it folded and inserted into a credit card pocket in a wallet. It is called the "Iain Sinclair Cardsharp2" and can be bought at Amazon for $5.00. Great little carry on for hijackers.

BTW it opens up to have a 2.5" blade.

That one would be seen by the metal detectors. Plus each has a serial number so it could be traced. Not that the number would be any use to anyone during an attack. Still, there are other things that are of greater concern.

Don't need a metal detector. A wallet is done with a visual check. Do you expect every inspector to check everything in your billfold?

Not for me either. It also seems this might catch on with certain elements like street gangs. A perfectly concealed weapon to take to school for that deadly playground fight.

I have a humility prize of a small Buck knife I carry on my keychain. I have had it for over 10 years and to use it as a weapon you would need to have the strength to hold your victim in place while you used it as a weapon. A hijacker might get one person but against an aggressive fighter it would be of little use as a book or a laptop could be used as a shield.

I call it a humility prize because I was it a shoot off that I won and that was the prize. On the way home, my roommate told me I didn't win the shoot off. I ask why and it was because the guy who set up the shoot off missed a higher score and I shouldn't have been in the shoot off in the first place. I wasn't told of this because they knew I would return the prize. That's why I have carried it all these years as a memory. I also take it off my keychain at airports and for jury duty because I don't want to risk losing it.

I was at Wal-Mart last night in sporting goods and could have purchased as many of these as I wanted.

I think it's based on this one. I would pick one up for $1 every time I got an email. I never gave any away before it's easy to cut yourself if you're not carefully.

You can kill a lot more people in much less time with a gun. Don't see those being outlawed in the US any time soon.

After 9-11 anyone who tries to hijack a plane or terrorize anyone with a pen knife, Or box cutter deserves to be beat to death by his suppoessed victims.
You can make a weapon out of a rolled up magazine or newspaper. Hell, When I was in the service they showed us how to make a edged weapon out of a filterd cigarret.

I think its sad when every thing is seen as a terrorists weapon.

These knives have obviously been around for a couple of years, at least, but I never heard of them until now. And then today, just the day after I discovered them here, I saw a TV commercial for them. Get four for $12.99 plus two S&H charges (which aren't specified).

True. back in the 70's here in the US they used to tell women to fight off an attacker with car keys held between your fingers in a fist. Man that has to hurt.

..

My former students showed me that. They also showed me how you can sharpen the edge of your cell phone to cut someone.

They were pretty ingenious at making shanks out of most things. Bless them.

You know, weapons are sometimes supposed to end up in the wrong hands.

In contrast, a sharp tool may sometimes be needed in order to open up a bottle.

A knife can possibly be used to open up a door, or even threaten someones lives, directly or indirectly.

In order to prevent such things from happening, we are having the police for the sake of public order and safety.

Still "muscle men" or those wearing knifes sometimes are being portrayed as heroes, because they are defeating evil by means of representing good.

Typically people being regarded as heroes are having a face, while those becoming the villain or thief becomes the opposite.

At times wars are starting and in order to be able to win, you will need to both have the cards by means of the proper strategy and also have the manpower ready at hand willing and able to do the dirty job for you.

At times it becomes for the sake of good when it happens, sometimes ending up becoming a religious principle as a result.

In order to possibly being able to accomplish the ultimate, or impossible, a good portion of either fanaticism or at least braveness becomes necessary in order for you to become a winner. It may end up becoming a win or loose battle at times when such things eventually happens.

Should perhaps tell you that I once paid a visit to a warship that was in town here.

The ship was so large that they chose to bring visitors to the ship from shore by means of a boat. Probably this increased security as well since the harbor is otherwise able to anchor quite large vessels.

I wanted to be honest and showed one of the crew a knife I was wearing.

In fact it should not have been a necessary thing to do so.

It really was a Swiss Army knife. I should not have bothered about doing such a thing.
