I wish I could but no shipping is a large problem. I'm sure there are people that would be willing to pay for shipping costs.

May not ship to Netherlands.. too bad then. Own a piece of Seti history, but only if you live in the USA. And have the money. :)

More wondering what's inside these servers. All have the same photos of dust in strategic places, but no explanation on what's actually inside them. So either it's an expensive paper weight, or it'll just gather more dust.

May not ship to UK either!

If you click on the pic it takes you to another page click where there is a generic set of pics, but is does show the insides.

I guess since I already ship Anni Shirts around the world, I could sort out the shipping problem too on those bits.
Just glad the Uni and Seti got the ownership bit sorted.
Thank You

Not sure where you are looking but I still see 5 days left to go.

Plus a new addition

Agilent 16555A timing module

Uli, I really don't think you would want to get into shipping servers around the world!!

Might just be worth it just to get a tour of the facility if nothing else, lol. Not sure what I would do with a server though...hmm.

Wow! I had thought these were long gone.

I wonder if one of the computing museums would be interested in having these for display. Perhaps they would be able to collect them if someone wanted to bid on them & then donate them to such a museum.

Well I know that this lot would take them

The National Museum of Computing

But that's a bit far away, so how about here.

These computers are rather ordinary and don't have any historical value right now. Mind you should we ever decipher a signal from ET, their 'value' would jump through the roof.

Not really as they would not necessarily be the servers that were involved.

Were these not the "original SETI@Home Classic servers, if so they are historical as being part of the first distributed computer project that led to BOINC.

I know when I visited The National Computer Center at Bletchely they were keen to get hold of any and all old computers especially if they had a known history.

I don't know if it's because I don't live in USA (I'm in Canada...) but I don't see ANY items. The Ebay page tells me that there are 0 items for sale.

Thank you Bernie for setting me straight. At 205lb, shipping cost would be outrages.

If you buy 2 of them, you could get a glas top made engraved with a world for a top and make a really cool coffe table :D

Actually shipping isn't that bad to go over seas. there are lots of companys that ship random things, mostly in palet crates. Get it on a pallet, truck is to the boat, and off you go.

And it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a plane. Just don't expect it over night.

BTW, who generates the times on the plts at http://setistats.haveland.com/index.html ?

Their times are 1 hour ahead.

And is that one of the better sites to use for watching Neil's great work progress come alive?

Apparently the picture is not clickable.

Is that black on the white cables because of tear and wear?

Except for that, this looks like a great machine.

It probably needs either the img or url tag or attribute, or possibly both, but testing it out with the Preview button only (I leave the rest for you), I noticed that when using both url and img, the left "[" became deleted when making one line of it (it ends up on two lines in the posting box, even when compressed).

If using both url and img, I guess url should come first, next img.

For now I do not know what is the correct syntax here.

BTW: Some nice pictures there in the photoalbum on Photobucket.

Only had a quick glance by now.

Goes to show that the UK is not only cities and villages but nature as well.
