Message 1636299 - Posted: 1 Feb 2015, 22:21:05 UTC - in response to Message 1636296.

In the beginning, there was a Winter Storm Watch.

Then there was a Winter Storm Warning from 9pm Saturday to 9pm Sunday.

Then the Warning was extended to 6am Monday.

Now, the Warning ends at 2pm Sunday... when the Blizzard Warning goes into effect, lasting until midnight.

As of noon, this is the view sticking my phone out the back door. http://davidstreeter.net/pics/20150201_120809.jpg I didn't embed the image because it's too big and I don't feel like reducing it. (If bandwidth is a problem for you, it's 2.7MB.)

You either live in Australia David, or the picture is upside down :-)

Looks okay to me.

Here's one showing a ruler stuck in it. http://davidstreeter.net/pics/20150201_140114.jpg 8 inches when I went out to shovel at 2:00.

I agree David that pic was perfect, I'd love to have snow like that here every winter, but such is not My luck, I'd have to live in Big Bear or Arrowhead for that..

Temps here don't get cold enough for a block heater, so far at least...

Snow, will be more snow during the night. Not that cold yet, but I have plugged in the engine heater in my car anyhow.

Aussies seem talented. I wonder if they could shovel 16in. of snow, which
is forecasted for Eastern Massachusetts, Monday (On top of 2.5+ ft.,
already on the ground.).

What's left of the snow has become ice. Another chilly night.

Great :(

Winter storm watch for the weekend: As much as 6-8 inches of snow
The largest single snowfall of the winter season is expected to hit Chicago this weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 6 to 8 inches of snow will be on the ground by Monday morning, with a winter storm watch in effect from Saturday evening through late Sunday night.

They've been saying all week that we will get some snow Saturday night and through the day on Sunday, but only a few inches, no big deal. This morning the new runs of the computer models came in and they issued a Winter Storm Watch.

One model says 4.5", another says 8.5("), and another says over 12 by Monday morning. Oh, and it's going to get cold too. High on Monday in the mid-teens F.

I'd rather the schools didn't close again.

Well as long as that isn't 8.5', that 4.5" or 8.5" doesn't sound like too much, just be careful David...
