Shocking

Shame on you Canada.

Thanks for the link Sirius. It is a shameful business and plenty of people have called for a public enquiry, but "Um it, it isn't really high on our radar, to be honest...Our ministers will continue to dialogue with those who are concerned about this." Stephen Harper on a public inquiry into missing aboriginal women.

And there you have it.

Yes, what a "lovely" Prime Minster...

"Our ministers will continue to dialogue with those who are concerned about this," he said."

Unfortunately, those at the top in the West are only concerned about themselves. When caught out, utter crap like the quote above.

Thanks for that Sirius , sounds like what has happened here in the last few decades .

The stolen generation as it is called here .
Lot's of money spent on the problems of native peoples that have not helped .
High alcohol use , not much chance of a job , lack of education .

But thank god we are have stop'd the murders of native people on there women and children .

As for there PM mmmmmmmmmmmmm best mates with Tony Abbott the man whom now wishes to close remote areas because of the cost . Which is only a land grab so miners can dig up the minerals and to think there both Republicans or i should say Repugnant's

Maybe the Canada needs to start with what we did even thou it was a bit draconian to do but it has stopped the violence and kids are now going to school

Ban all alcohol sales in the towns where there is high violence . If they get a social security payment then link it to things like making shore there kids attend school and are feed and washed in order to recieve the payment .
Have Local police officers patrol on foot and drive buys at a regular times.
Giving the police powers to prosecute even if the victim does not wish to . And sitting down with them and actually listening to there concerns .

And don't vote for the Liberal Party (republicans) as they are the ones whom have done more to harm native peoples than Labor(Democrats)

Remember Tony Abbot our PM is Liberal Party and the canadan PM is also a Liberal Party man and both wish to harm native people with there policy's or lack off policy. 2 different country's with the same type of people running it and the same pee poor views

Hmmm:)
They don't have time for that.
Do you know how much paperwork/computerwork it takes to document every incident/crime?

Message 1663541 - Posted: 10 Apr 2015, 10:42:22 UTC - in response to Message 1663506.

Each year, dozens of Canadian Aboriginal women are murdered or disappear never to be seen again. Some end up in a river that runs through the heart of Winnipeg.

That is of course nothing less than an International scandal that should be dealt with immediately, and quite rightly should be highlighted. But what is crap is to state that it is the fault of "colonial imperialism, fuelled by racism”. Britain is not responsible for how 21C Canada treats its people. The same goes for Australia with the Aborigines, as it sounds as if they have a similar problem there. Harper's comment is quite frankly unacceptable as it stands.

Much better post & had you read that report first it would not have lead to this: -

I rather fail to see why someone from another country seems to think that they have the right to criticise another country that they choose to live in, in this inaccurate way.

"colonial imperialism, fuelled by racism.”

I would suggest bad temper fuelled by alcohol.

FYI anything inside " " is the same as (quote] [/quote]

Highlighting another side to undue 'pressures'... Do people really need to be pressured into overly expensive 'fashion-wear' before they can feel they can get fitter?!...

Why sales of women's sportswear are gathering pace

Note the usual Marketing super-model showing off likely the sort of size and styling that completely does not fit most people...

All for the usual Marketing twist...

Power & Privilege, what a lovely combination.

I think attempting to try a senile 86-year old who probably can't remember last week let alone the 1970s was rightly recognised as a waste of time and money.

Totally agree, why waste taxpayers money on a farce hence the title of the link. Unfortunately, some people are not Franz Von Werra!

That may well be the position of the defence, and the position taken in the public interest. It is quite rightly now being reviewed. However I wanted to make the point that I disagree with the tone of the responses from two posters.

WHY?

This thread is about highlighting abuse, so what really is your problem with others pointing it out?

Interestingly in that article all the companies were started and run by women.

Not sure what that says!

The Sweden/Saudi conflict is fact-based.
Our Minister states facts & Saudi rulers do not like these facts told.
Who’s Afraid of a Feminist Foreign Policy?
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/swedens-feminist-foreign-minister
Like Hillary Clinton, who has often argued that “women’s rights are human rights,” Wallström has embraced the concept of “smart power” as articulated by the American political scientist Joseph Nye: that is, when a country invests in solving global-scale problems, such as health and economic development it will benefit that country in the end.
For example, as one of the European countries receiving the most Syrian asylum seekers, Sweden would do well to address refugee issues beyond its borders.
Women’s rights is another such global issue, and Wallström has found common ground on the topic with some foreign colleagues, from across the political spectrum, such as the U.K.’s First Secretary of State William Hague, from the Conservative party, who, during his tenure as Foreign Secretary, stated that “the full social, economic, and political empowerment of women is the great strategic prize of the twenty-first century.”

Well, I have two divergent thoughts about the above.
I, as a Sexual Human Being, would prefer NO (sorry for shouting) suits.
But getting serious (I think):
What????? Are they serious?????

Four things.

Sorry Janne...
I'm not a le Pen supporter.
Of course, I do agree with some of their ideas. But....
To this non-ideologue (AKA Non-Secular Religion Believer):
ALL (sorry for shouting) Ideologues are 50% correct.
It is the 50% where they are either wrong, brainless, deranged, evil, etc., that makes the difference.

Who is a le Pen supporter? Check out her father.
Who is a Nigel Farange supporter? Britain are to crowded.
Who is a Jimmy Ã…kesson supporter? Far to many 13%.

Looks like Amish people.
