Hi,

Years ago, there was a way to disable certain applications in 'computing preferences' on our profiles. I set up one or more of these profiles to not allow astropulse work since I had a couple of slow computers which were taking weeks to get through them.

Now, I can't see this option on the website - it looks like it has been removed, but it also seems like I'm not getting astropulse work for some of my machines. For example, when I look at my host list, some of the machines don't even have astropulse listed in the 'applications' section.

1) is there a way for me to reset/remove these old settings? astropulse should be enabled on all my profiles.

2) is there a way to specifically tell the manager to download the astropulse app and process work for it? I'm using the ubuntu boinc package.

Thanks!

Your account -> Project preferences allows you to set which hardware options to use and which applications.

Aha! Thanks!

But unfortunately this doesn't solve my problem: It turns out that astropulse is enabled on all my profiles. Any other ideas why this machine are not getting the astropulse app?

you may or may not be able to see the machine in question (I'm not sure about the privacy settings) at:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=7428498

I've done some more thorough checking, and it turns out that this is the only one of my machines which doesn't have astropulse - it shows up in the list for all the rest. e.g:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=7370562

Thanks!

You seem to have missed all the news on the front page and in the Tech News forum (start at the October 21st thread). Seti is out of work while waiting for the Astropulse database to be rebuilt. Present guess is coming Saturday morning.

I know all about that, but I'm not sure what it has to do with what applications are installed on my machine?
