I suspect we are in for a pile that is higher and deeper of material that is based on false assumptions.

There seems to be a false assumption being made that the legal system is about truth, fairness or justice. First year law students have to be disabused of this assumption. The legal system is about the application of Boolean logic to a set of rules including stare dices to a set of ill defined and occasionally unknowable variables. If truth, fairness or justice is the result, it is by pure happenstance.

I suspect we are going to be dazzled with another false assumption that a trial must be held if there is the slightest shred that a person committed a crime, even if it is obvious that there is far too much evidence providing ample doubt. We will be told this is some special case that has to be different that any other case, some sort of hot politics and necessary placation. Forgotten will be that is it far better to let a dozen criminals off than convict a single innocent.

I suspect we are going to hear dazzling assumptions about how one witness must be believed and another ignored no matter the forensics involved, simply because of systemic bias, or the is happened once therefore it always happens truism.

The obvious will be ignored. Why I asked if we replaced the workers in the "system" who have bias with robots who don't, if the result will still be biased, and asked to point to the statute that codifies this bias.

The bias happens when people are forced to make binary choice on ill defined or unknowable variables, not part of the legal system itself.

The obvious is an application of the associative and commutative laws to the bias of the individual people in the system and the sum total, is not the system, but still individual bias.

There will be more piles of the obvious about how it is designed to continue bias, but that is false. It is designed to continue to obtain a paycheck, simple self interest, keep the power once you have it and keep the paycheck flowing. I suspect we will hear concepts like epicycles were before Kepler.

It is going to be obvious that someone does not know where the boundaries of the legal system lie and large areas adjacent but clearly outside will be included.

Then again I hope we are surprised with actual thinking about racism, in the correct thread, and not a conflating of disjoint subjects.
