Maybe it's climate change--now if only we could figure out which way it is changing and the fact that we can't do anything about it to change the direction. Of course we can change the direction. We did it in the first place by raising the global temperature. But are we willing to decrease the global temperature? |

The CO2, we have put in the Atmosphere will last, and continue its warming, for thousands of years. Yes. One way is to stop deforestation and plant more trees. |

The CO2, we have put in the Atmosphere will last, and continue its warming, for thousands of years. You dont solve the climate crisis by forest capturing CO2. But its a good start. Targeting our "energy system," is probably impossible. Rather than looking to forests to solve the current climate crisis by capturing carbon dioxide, he suggests targeting our "energy system," which continues to create the pollutant. |

But are we willing to decrease the global temperature? Some might be willing but unable to do so. Me ---I would like it to be warmer--too cold here in the winter. The windchill here tonight will be well below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. So ----I may choose to move south in the future. Why don't all youse warmists choose to move North. Then you can all freeze your tukases. |

But are we willing to decrease the global temperature? What you have to work out is, when the electricity fails, to which of these questions can I answer, Yes, Can you keep warm in the colder parts of the earth? Can you keep cool in the hotter parts of the earth? |

You think so, I doubt it. |

You think so, I doubt it. I'll see your doubt, and raise you 4000 cords of hard wood. |

You think so, I doubt it. I quit splitting firewood over 30 years ago. |

I'll see your doubt, and raise you 4000 The Canadian destruction of their forests to my mind is beyond recklessly criminal. It is the sort of action that will help to cause or accelerate wars. On a completely smaller scale on another part of our planet: We now have very efficient wood burning 'stoves' that pretty much convert wood entirely into heat, CO2, and fine ash. Our local pub has added some wood burning stoves to heat the rooms when there is not enough hot air from the regulars. They are still burning their own wood from some trees felled in the open area behind the pub, from TWO YEARS AGO. They still look to have enough for another two or three winters. All very pleasantly rustic and a small help towards 'going green'. Certainly good for their business. Even so, not really sustainable in that those trees likely took 50 years to grow to heat the pub for just five winters. They have no plans to grow any trees to replace those cleared. (They were cleared to allow more sunshine for their customers...) There are better ways yet... I'll see your doubt, and raise you 4000 Brazil and other South American countries are cuttting down the rainforest and plant sugar canes to produce ethanol Indonesia does the Slash-and-burn! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash-and-burn Canada doesn't do this. Edit: Finland does it:) https://translate.google.se/translate?sl=sv&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Ffolket.se%2Fnyheter%2Feskilstuna%2F1.372857&edit-text= His own world record in the log splitting is just over nine minutes. I'll see your doubt, and raise you 4000 Even though deforestation of boreal regions is proven effective in reducing global warming? Or, don't you believe your own science? |

... The Canadian destruction of their forests to my mind is beyond recklessly criminal. ... Care to try to explain that one somehow? Reliably even??... All on our only one planet, Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

I'll see your doubt, and raise you 4000 What? Deforestation doesn't reduce global warming no matter where is done. It reduce the uptake of the CO2 giving even more global warming. |

... The Canadian destruction of their forests to my mind is beyond recklessly criminal. ... Already posted a few posts ago. 0.5 degrees from running the climate models. Yes, counter intuitive. But you have your choice, do you believe the climate science model, or do you believe your middle school science teacher? |
