I was using 6.10.58 on all my projects, but vLHC@home warned me I would not get any task until I switched to 7.xx.yy. So now I am using 7.2.41 and 7.4.27. Tullio |

Thanks for the update! As for the other comments that have happened, it seems that there still exists some noisy group of people who feel entitled to automated (or manual) ego-stroking regarding the efforts they signed up to perform without compensation. I believe I may be repeating myself from prior posts related to similar instances in the past, but here it is anyway: If SETI@Home doesn't have workunits to crunch for whatever reason, and this fact gives you problems, there are other BOINC projects with data awaiting processing. Giving them your processing time will not reduce your results here, while there are no datasets to process. For those who have (semi-)commercial amounts of processing power and are crabbing about the unused expense, go find something else to crunch! Personally, my computer remains on 24/7/365 regardless of S@H workunit status, and life is too short to get bent out of shape over whether or not the electricity bill is greater or lesser in a given amount of time. S@H workunits will happen when they happen. Part of what I see as my "job" in this is to stay out of the way of the people who are already doing all they can to try to get things moving again. |

All this time and the data sets from the RT have just sat in a box? Or do I not understsnd? Never engage stupid people at their level, they then have the home court advantage..... |

Speaking about analysis of the returned results. This is one of the reasons that there currently are no workunits being around. A huge amount of tasks have been processed in recent times and it all needs to be analyzed in order to be able to find whether or not something of interest was present at all. As you certainly know, for the CUDA based tasks there are no graphics available. For those tasks that are meant for the CPU, such graphics is in fact available. If you mind taking your time bothering at looking at this graphics, you may be able to see the result of a task as it is being processed. The Seti@home v7.00 client is adding support for autocorrelation among other things. It is meant to be an enhanced application. From those early days of Seti, you may recall the presentation or display of the WOW signal as it was being processed by the client. Did this result ever show up in the numbers or the results? Probably no. Put Jerry Ehman back in 1977 knew that this area was having several radio sources of interest. One digit having the number 6 is not being encircled on the famous paper output of the WOW signal as it was being detected. It was probably another source being located in the same field or coming from the same area. So, if no numbers are being present or available, is it possible that kind of a signal of sorts might be inserted and possibly being visible, but otherwise not being detected because it perhaps is something different instead? According to at least one reliable source, the WOW signal was not a gaussian as such. Rather it became a strong narrowband signal which, because it was detected and recorded (stored) by means of an analog and not digital algorithm or transformation and therefore its possible intended meaningnever became became translated or interpreted. What a shame. This story really shows how good we are and also our lack of capabilities when it comes to being able to both detect as well as interpret possible extraterrestrial signals of interest. |

I am still getting some task for cpu, but nothing for gpu, i read most of the post here, but didnt find any answers, less i over looked it, can someone plz explain it to me plz. Same here. I haven't had a GPU task for ~4 days, though my log shows it is "Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA" when I update the project (Running ver: 7.4.27). Anyone have any idea as to when GPU tasks will become available again? I have a new GTX 970 eagerly awaiting some crunching :) [/quote] |

Anyone have any idea as to when GPU tasks will become available again? There will probably be an update (well, a new educated guess) tomorrow about how much longer it will be before there is new work. Meanwhile, just hope you get lucky and get a few resends once in a while. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Anyone have any idea as to when GPU tasks will become available again? when there ready .! When they redo the data base for AP's on the new Brouno . As Eric has explane'd Skit happens ! We just have to be patient . The server will only go so fast no matter how much Eric yells , stamps his feet or cry's , it will work or it won't. Fingers crossed it will |

@gsumners You posted:- "Personally, my computer remains on 24/7/365 regardless of S@H workunit status, and life is too short to get bent out of shape over whether or not the electricity bill is greater or lesser in a given amount of time." Nice IF one has the money to cover the leccy bill. My inability to do so in 2012 put me offline for some considerable time.. So costs DO come into the equation, but lets face it, if someone ends up with a massive power bill, as I did they only have themselves to blame:-) Still I'm not keen on repeating that particular experience. As for the whining and whinging that goes on, well lets face it S@H should come with an addiction warning:-) And its my guess that the bigger the whinge the faster the whinger will depart for pastures new:-) Regards, Cliff |

My slow machine is still crunching through work units, otherwise idle here. No biggie. When there is work, it will be welcome, less heat generated in the mean time. I look forward to the repairs and upgrades bearing fruit. In the mean time, I send best wishes to the team, and enjoy your holidays. Brant |
