For all the people around the world who would like to see the more eccentric side of good old England here are some pics I took today as the London Brighton Veteran Car Run passes the end of my road. If you want to know more go here LBVCR 2014 The run takes place on normal roads with no traffic restrictions, it is 60 miles from Hyde Park Corner to the seafront at Brighton, this year there were over 600 entries. Vehicles must be pre 1905. A 1900 De Dion Bouton Our very own Steve Redgrave ex olympic rower, driving a 1904 Thornycroft. Number 148 a 1902 De Dion Bouton and number 178 a 1903 Humber Forecar The weather today was mild but very wet, this takes dedication A 1900 Mignonotte Luap Love these guys Number 297 a 1904 Bolide and Number 320 a 1904 Oldsmobile, nice hats!! My favourite a 1904 Darraq Of course some people try and muscle in, this is pre 1905, I don't think so!!! I did also video some cars, it's a bit dark but it's here http://youtu.be/CcuCWVzpNKc I have loads more pics I may post if anyone is interested. |

Thanks for sharing those great pic's with us Bernie. ;-) Fantastic pictures Bernie :) Thank you! Weather was horrible for them obviously - and couldn't have been much fun for photographers either. Be lovely to see more when you have the time. :) |

OK a few more pics then A 1900 Clement Panhard A 1904 De Dion Bouton and a 1902 De Dion Bouton A 1902 Panhard et Levassor A mad rush to get across the trasffic lights before they change. The brakes on some of these vintage cars gave me a few heat stopping moment as I was standing at the traffic lights!! A 1903 Mercedes I like this one, a classic Jag and a vetran 1903 Tony Huber And this lots getting into the swing, in a 1902 James and Browne PS I will try and post a few more but some need a judicious edit to look their best!! |

They're brilliant! :) So many look like they're just missing the horse/horses that they replaced. The clothes are great too! Thanks Bernie :) |
