Hello, I was wondering what the release date would be for a BOINC version fro Windows 8 & 10 that actually works with no extra fiddling? Also being given the ability to crunch projects faster as most of us have really really fast computers these days would be nice and help to solve some of the projects faster. I Thank You, Donald Bosso |

The current release version of BOINC, v7.2.42, works perfectly fine for me on Windows 8 and Windows 10 without any extra fiddling. The ability to crunch projects faster (I assume you mean workunits) is completely limited to your computer's speed, primarily CPU and GPU. For example, a recently downloaded AstroPulse v6 workunit took an old Athlon Slot A 1GHz machine of mine 15 days to crunch. It typically takes my Core i7 3930k CPU about 4 hours to do the same, and my Radeon HD 7970 GPU about 30 minutes. |

Boinc v7.2.42 locks up my computer using windows 8, on the windows 7 machine I have no issues. I get two minimized screens and can't get out of screen saver mode. I have to go and enable task manager then I am able to see the screen, If I am playing a game it will lock the game up. |

I use optimized applications so I don't have the option of the screen saver, and when I play games, I have BOINC pause all GPU crunching automatically. I leave it crunch on the CPU, but I have it limited to 25% of my cores. I can't even tell BOINC is running unless I pull up Task Manager. |
