These day a good few people are using small solid state drives as boot drives for their OS.

So having a selectable drive and directory other than the default windows drive and program data directories might well be usefull during install.

Apologies if this has come up before but there a LOT of posts in this forum.

If you want to move the data directory somewhere else, you need to:
1) Find the BOINC data directory. (on Windows, one of the directories in the path is hidden). The location is listed as one of the first lines in the log after a restart of BOINC.
2) Stop BOINC (The daemon, not just the UI)
3) Move the BOINC Data directory tree to the new location
4) Install BOINC with the directory to the pointing to the new location.
