Summary: drivers starting from 340.52 through 341.44 (not including) are inappropriate for using with pre-FERMI devices and OpenCL AstroPulse.
Either use older driver or upgrade to 341.44.

Or optionally upgrade from Pre Fermi to something that will compute faster burning less trees :).

What, The 8500 GT I am using is to slow for the amount of power is uses?!

I'd imagine, sadly, probably not, since that's probably the first major OpenCL schism, and I recall no particular problem Cuda drivers that push things to the point of recall. Claggy's probably your best bet to talk to, as defacto head of the Boinc Emergency Response Team ( BERT )
