The fact the two holiest sites in ALL Islamic sects are located in Saudi Arabia doesn't help and is another reason radical Sunni and Shiite movements hate the Saudis. Erbil in Iraq Kurdistan seems to be a nice place. Biji Kurdistan:) |

There is a very big difference between being a muslim and following Islam. Of course not Glenn. The Kaaba stone is a meteorite. And some ISIS says that som terrorists are going to destroy it. Well it could be anybody. the US? Islam is perhaps the most peaceful religions there is. Strange though that so many islam believers are the most destructive people today. |

There is Muslim and there is Muslim. Shiite, Sunni, Wahhabi, and the current ultra radical brand practiced by ISIS. The countries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar are considered Wahhabi and are hated by most other sects of Islam due to a pact between a reformer Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792) and Muhammad bin Saud. Today Mohammed bin Abd Al-Wahhab's teachings are state-sponsored and are the official form of Sunni Islam in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE. The fact the two holiest sites in ALL Islamic sects are located in Saudi Arabia doesn't help and is another reason radical Sunni and Shiite movements hate the Saudis. And if European Women were being... "Hedersbrott" seems to be an unknown term in the US. http://en.bab.la/dictionary/swedish-english/hedersbrott Thats a common "good" old tradition in muslim countries. Several female muslims have been killed here for not beeing a "true" muslim. European Countries however dont follow sharia laws. We follow old roman laws. |

Janne... It depends who you ask. Europe is now completly different to the US. And the EU seems to fall apart right now. Then we have all this national parties in almost every European countries. Sweden and the UK as well. UKIP and Sweden "Democrats". Russia (Kremlin) are liked by UKIP btw:( Worshiping stones:) We have lot of runstones but I have not seen anybody worshiping them. But I meet muslim kids everyday. One girl from Iraq told me when she met our dog Tosca that her father took care of a wild dog in Iraq. Thats almost sacrilegious in Iraq! |

You both need to read Sun Tsu's 'The Art of War'. Mankind has been killing each other for 50,000 years. If you're not the best at it, you're dead. Here is some cherry picks from Sun Tsu's 'The Art of War' http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/s/sun_tzu.html يان السويدي Jan al-Swedi |

It can be won with brute force, but not the police action type of brute force you continue to envision. You are joking right? You must be joking. Not even you would take this little masturbatory imperialist power fantasy as something the US should seriously do. And advocating genocide and other war crimes and crimes against humanity as a good way to get rid of a bunch of terrorists. Ugh, well that is the internet for you, I can't tell the difference between people who are saying these things sarcastically and those who think their ideas should seriously be considered. |

You both need to read Sun Tsu's 'The Art of War'. Mankind has been killing each other for 50,000 years. If you're not the best at it, you're dead. I have read it, and yes, clearly the people at IS have done so as well, or at least have some basic understanding of what the book says. But again, the most important principle on which we have based our entire military doctrine is speed. And an enemy like IS denies us our superior mastery of speed. Their style of fighting has far more to do with Mao Zedong's ideas on guerrilla warfare. Our military is fundamentally not equipped to deal with that type of enemy. Maybe you should read it again. It clearly says you need to know your enemy and know yourself if you want to win. You clearly don't know your enemy or yourself given that you think the US military can fight this type of enemy and win. |

The US should not use its military except when the mission is to obtain an instrument of surrender. Don't forget that instrument of surrender terminates the enemy, they have no land or possessions, their subjects are now your slaves. Perhaps you never saw an item marked "Made in Occupied Japan" or "Made in Occupied Germany." It can be won with brute force, but not the police action type of brute force you continue to envision. First though, you have to let them establish a territory so they have something to defend. Then when you go in, you don't leave them an escape route. Of course you also have to break the Geneva Convention, because it is total all out war so you can do Dresden to to them, and chase the survivors across the desert sand denying them food, water, shelter, sleep and run them down like dogs as they use up their limited supply of ammo and refined gasoline. As they have no escape, eventually they surrender or all of them are dead. Then there is also the Alamo option, take no survivors. It isn't pretty, it is war, not a police action. You think they will get more followers faster than they can be killed. Well, if you surround them, those followers can't get in and they are untrained and unarmed at that point. Very hard for them to join together and try and break through in any significant numbers. Also the internet, social media, sat phones can't get out so there is no coordination or command and control. True another nation state may take exception, but nation states usually understand how much is at stake if they are targeted. Of course as we would be on war footing, we would prepare for that. They may allow mercenaries to leave, but not likely with more than small arms. They will want to keep the large arms in case they come on the target list! Now as to refugees, well, you don't waste ammo on them, but you don't worry about killing a few tens of thousands either, as long as you are killing soldiers or industrial capacity, infrastructure, or farming. Remember the point is to win, and one way you win is they are all dead. It also helps to have a good trigger event. 9/11 is now to far in the past, so you have to allow them to get in another mass attack, so you can take the moral high ground and show them to be the devil incarnate so that whatever horrors you inflict are deserved. Of course it would be nice if that trigger event also P/O'd a few of our enemies so they would be far less likely to join with the IS. When it is over, you have to decide if you rebuild, or if you take it as a spoil of war. Can you imagine what the oil companies would offer for those wells? One way to pay for the campaign. Now perhaps you understand what I mean when I say war and why the USA should not engage in it lightly.

A textbook that everyone should read. Militaries, Politicians, Police, Families ... The name Al Baghdadi means that you are a person from Baghdad. Nothing else. |
