Except that Ebola is a useless bioweapon. It kills to quickly and is too difficult to effectively spread in a country with high hygiene standards and an advanced medical aid infrastructure.

Ebola is only this scary because its a pretty gruesome disease and because Hollywood made a bunch of awful and stupid movies about it. Ebola is like their second favorite virus to use in movies, right after a virus that turns people into zombies.

Oh and yeah, very unfair that they don't give people an experimental drug. But perhaps thats because its experimental, aka, they don't know if it will actually cure anyone and far from being in a stage where it can be mass produced.

The way this virus came about and is taking off I have to wonder why all of a sudden this is going on.
Canada has an experimental vaccine that needs to be tested before it is patented and made for commercial use.
That equals a lot of money and a lot of reasons for a Bio terrorist act in a population that has been tested on before.

The way this world is now nothing would surprise me.

I hope we don't start to see a panic and draconian rules or laws start to come in

The New York man, may not have Ebola. Someone in the US., will likely get infected with EBOLA. (bound to happen). What scares me is the upcoming flu season. People who are anxious to begin with will flood the hospitals.
The Doctor and aid worker, in Atlanta were given an experimental drug.
The people who need this drug, can't get it. Very unfair. imho.
Social media, is outraged the Dr. & aid worker were brought to US.
CDC, will never tell the truth in the US.
Ebola is spreading faster, and may take months to contain.

With all the problems in the world, Bio-terrorism, come to mind.

Now there is one hell of a scary thought.

Ebola always just pops up out of nowhere and kills a bunch of people before disappearing again. This case is just extra bad because people are actively making it more difficult to contain the disease due to their fear of real doctors as well as the less than optimal quality of the local healthcare.

In an apparent attempt to avoid hysteria, U.S. health authorities are withholding details about a number of suspected Ebola victims from the public.

CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta: At least 6 tested for Ebola in NYC

Ohio woman tested negative.

Oh infowars, you always find a way to turn a rather innocent story into some dark evil government conspiracy against the public.

With the hysteria everyone with a trace of a fever is going to be tested. What a windfall for the company making the test kits!

Suspected Ebola victim dies

"World Health Organization (WHO) experts are meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss a response to the outbreak. The two-day meeting will decide whether to declare a global health emergency."

If it does become an International concern, then let's hope they spend less time talking & more time in acting.

It means more money to check for sick passengers coming form cretin countries. This has happened before most recently with the "swine" flue scare in 2009.

Ebola's spread to US is 'inevitable' says CDC chief

Washington (AFP) - Ebola's spread to the United States is "inevitable" due to the nature of global airline travel, but any outbreak is not likely to be large, US health authorities said Thursday.

Well the simple action of not letting anyone from those countrys on an airplane would stop the spread. Draconian? Yes. That is one diasese you do not want flying around the world. It would be the Bubonic plague all over again.
And one question I have is, If you live after getting Ebola. Are you immune to it after? Thats something that hasnt been disclosed yet.
If my history is right small pox was a big killer also. But if you survived you you were immune.

I suspect that there are so few that HAVE lived after contracting Ebola, that the subject has not been much studied yet.

Its a virus, so I suppose you might be immune for it indeed.
