Has anyone tried the S@H extension
for firefox, I have downloaded it, but
am unable to install it, I moved it into the
.xpi directory, but it's not working.
Does anyone know how to install it?
Thanks in advance....

Merry Christmas from Chongqing China !!!

Can you give a little more information about this Seti extension? I'd like to try it but couldn't find it on the Firebird extension homepage.

Hi Joe

I have it working on my machine running Mandrake 10.

I just left mouse clicked on the installation link and then on sahuserstata.xpi and the installation was done for me. Restarted Firefox and went to Extensions under Tools, highlighted Seti and selected Options. Here I entered my SETI@home account number.

Merry Christmas from New Westminster, British Columbia.

Joe
I just installed Firefox 1.0 a few days ago and I think the problem you are encountering is the same one I had when I tried to install the S@H extension just few minutes ago. As you know the file is an xpi file but your system does not know what program to use to open that extension with, so just right click on the file you have downloaded and have it open with Firefox. The install box will then open up and you can install it. After you close Firefox and reopen it, go to tools then click on extenions. Double click on the Seti@home user stat extension then enter your seti account number. Your stats will then show up on the bottom right corner on you status bar.

Merry Christmas from Cincinnati, Ohio

I just tried to get the FireFox extension and this is what I get:

Is this extension only for Linux? What a bummer if it is. :-(

EDIT:
I just clicked on the link for the Linux version and got the same messages as above. What's up with this?

@siran
There are versions for both windows and Linux. The boinc.dk site has been acting up lately. I was able to download it about an hour or so ago. I sent you an email to your cybrtrek account with the file attached(windows version). Hope you don't mind that I did that.

Thanks, and no problem with using my e-mail account for that. You're the second one, here now, to use it. I wouldn't have put it in my profile if I didn't want SETI users to use it.

I have a burning question about websites in the UK. Why do they have a cookie pop up for every single graphic that gets displayed? I was checking out a site the other day and had to click "deny" about 30-40 times before the page was completed. I have seen this on quite a few different sites over there. Just wondering....

From where download it? Extension for Firefox / Windows and Linux.
Or please send it to my email, slavko@slavko.sk.
Thanks.

Message 57384 - Posted: 26 Dec 2004, 3:40:55 UTC

My experience with this was a little different, but it's working now. When I clicked the downloaded file, then told Windows to open with FireFox, FF just opened a new tab, then said "done". Restarted FF, nothing was installed. Ultimately, I had to use File-Open dialog in FF, browse for the file, click OK. Then I got the expected dialog for the acct number, and it installed into extensions.

Thanks for the hints, hope this helps a few people.

-Gene

Yeah, nice one - I didn't know about this b4.
Now... if it could only show the combined BOINC stats as well...

Couldn't find the link at first from your instructions, but a quick Google fixed that little problem =D Very sweet extension! It's like a stats-graphic away from the forums! ;)
