Update on Homeless. We had a bad housefire halfway down the block and very body is ok including the Granimals.
Homeless has been hanging out here for the last three hours, so maybe that was his number one home.

Two guys go fishing and catch a pair of kittens.

It'd be hard to believe if it weren't on video.

Jason Frost, who lives in Hueytown, and his friend Brandon Key were out on the Warrior River near Bluff Creek Saturday morning when they heard a splash and saw something swimming across the water toward them. They weren't sure exactly what it was until they heard the meows.

The kitten, an orange tabby that looked to be about a few months old, swims right up to their boat and Frost picks it up by the nape of the neck and sets it aboard. The kitten shakes off and starts meowing.

Frost said it's the strangest experience he's had while fishing on the Warrior River.

"Everybody always has a crazy fishing story, and that's all it is, is a story," he said. "If I wouldn't have had this on video, everybody would have thought I was crazy."

Kitten Jumps From Third-Floor Window, Escapes Cat-Filled Apartment

(Chicago) WEST ROGERS PARK — North Side neighbors watched in horror as a kitten leapt to freedom from a third-floor window, apparently to escape a cat-filled apartment loaded with animal waste.

The orange kitty survived the getaway plunge. West Rogers Park neighbors named him Kurt Vonnecat, and rushed to gather pillows in case any others tried to make the more than 20-foot jump. The neighbors stood with the pillows under the window in the 2200 block of West Jarvis Street last week until help arrived.

By the end of the week, city workers got into the apartment and rescued a total of 11 cats.

Animal Care and Control was contacted and got into the apartment on Friday (Aug 28) after an unsuccessful attempt on Thursday (Aug 27), Director Brad Powers said. Animal Control rescued 11 cats, who are being cared for by shelter staff, Powers said.

The cats will be held until at least Friday (Sept 04); if unclaimed by an owner, Animal Control will "evaluate the animals to determine whether the cats are suitable for adoption or transfer to an area rescue agency," Powers said.

These situations always break my heart.
And usually, it starts with somebody that has limited means but a big heart. They want to help stray kitties, but don't either have the funds or don't think about getting them fixed soon enough, and then it snowballs out of control on them. The really sad part is when it gets to the point that the kitties they were trying to help out start to suffer because of the deteriorating conditions.

If only they would reach out for help before it gets that bad.
