I noticed that apparently something happened to the video if Jake playing fetch so here it is again in case somebody happens along who has not seen it. [URL=http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t361/shawn5112/VCLP0303_zpswu8q2nng.mp4]

There I made a proper link and did a carriage return for you Shawn, so that the link will be under the image and not beside it.

Nice video Shawn, My PC is acting pretty slow, it's a hardware problem and I normally avoid anything like this or even a site like FB, at least until I can get the replacement PC operating, which hopefully will be in July sometime.

Thank you I did check and some other videos that I posted are fine it was just this one that seems to have had a problem. I did show my GF a couple of the pix of Grace and she agree's that she is a good looking cat but also a lady that she works with got a new cat about 7-8 months ago that does the same thing and she was told that he is a Maine Coon I will see if I can get any pix since I work for the same company and am friends with the lady as well.

I will be happy to share as soon as possible but due to schedules I will not see the lady at work until Saturday I would like too see some more pics as well since the only ones I have seen were right after they got him(7-8 weeks old?)Did not know he was a Maine coon until I showed the pictures of Grace to my Girlfriend and she said they were told that is what he is. Meanwhile here is Jake in 1 of his favorite places my foot must be just the right shape for his pillow.

Aww....looks like my Tigger kitty.
She will walk up and DEMAND attention. This cat will raise her claws to me if I do not pay attention quickly enough.
I get too involved with the computers and she lets me know when enough is enough for her....LOL.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_Coon
The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated breed of cat. It has a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine,[2] where it is the official state cat.
[snip]
The generally accepted theory among breeders is that the Maine Coon is descended from the pairings of local short-haired domestic cats and long-haired breeds brought overseas by English seafarers (possibly by Captain Charles Coon) or 11th-century Vikings.[9][10] The connection to the Vikings is seen in the strong resemblance of the Maine Coon to the Norwegian Forest Cat, another breed that is said to be a descendant of cats that traveled with the Vikings.
[snip]
Maine Coons are known as the "gentle giants"[4] and possess above-average intelligence, making them relatively easy to train.[3] They are known for being loyal to their family and cautious—but not mean—around strangers, but are independent and not clingy. The Maine Coon is generally not known for being a "lap cat" but their gentle disposition makes the breed relaxed around dogs, other cats, and children. They are playful throughout their lives, with males tending to be more clownish and females generally possessing more dignity, yet both are equally affectionate.[26] Many Maine Coons have a fascination with water and some theorize that this personality trait comes from their ancestors, who were aboard ships for much of their lives.[5] Maine Coons are also well known for being very vocal cats. They are known for their frequent yowling, chattering, chirping, "talking" (especially "talking back" to their owners), and making other loud vocalizations.

And yes Grace loves to watch flowing water, weirdest thing in a cat, that I've ever seen. She also likes to be a lap cat, but I trained Her to do that and in My kitchen I have plastic baby locks on all the easily reachable cabinet doors that She assumes have food in them, though in one case the lock was defeated by Her, She has since ignored those two doors. And I still think Super Cat, er Grace needs a cape, 4'2" is the farthest She has jumped, straight up.

There is ssomething in their genes that makes a Maine Coon what they are.
A cat among cats, so to speak.

Lori and myself ran twenty miles to adopt one.
Both ways, two days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for a damn cat..Yes we did.

We sadly lost him at the young age of 8yo, but Oscar lives today as the name of a server on Seti.

He taught us what a cat could be.
There is no other breed quite like a Maine Coon.

I shall have one some day, when the kitties I have now pass on.
And I hope I can find one as a rescue.
If not, I shall protect and love any kitty that chooses me.

You do realize that THEY choose us, yah?
Lori and me [bad prose] went to the kitty shelter to make a donation last week, and there were I think a dozen or so that tried to imprint upon me.\\\\

What makes these trips so heartbreaking is that I aleays want to bring them all home with me. Every single one of them.

The little black one in the corner who belied her age and was running around like a kitten, was amazing.
The ginger kitty who clearly was unhappy in her cage meowed all day long.
I have 3 fine kitties than shall never known a cage until their last day.
Cats, as we know them, are not meant to be out in the wild anymore.
They are now totally captive and house bred.

No household breed of cat is meant any longer to live in the wild,.
Ever...
Nowadays, cats are pets, not predators. They can be, if released, but most could not sustain themselves as hunters anymore.
They are pets now, and I hope most of you realize that./
Cats should NOT be left out at night....
They are indoor animals now, and best be treated as so.

I do absolutely agree with you that the vast majority of House cats should not be outside except during the day and with a little supervision but not at night at all. Our boy would be able to survive just fine if he had too he is definitely a hunter several times at my old apt. when he still got outside time he brought birds to the door even though he has not been outside in 5 years I have had to take him off the screen on the sliding door a few times when he thought he could get a bird but he is not the rule by any measure.

Yep Grace likes birds too, if She thinks She hears any, She scoots to the window, even if it means running across linoleum at full tilt and She doesn't lose Her footing when doing so either, unlike smaller cats. Out here the area has Bobcats and I think Hawks, plus cars in close quarters, it's a mobile home park and I own My own mobile home w/no mortgage.

I agree that cats choose the person who they want to live with. Had a pregnant stray do it.
Have you ever seen a mama cat teaching class? She had kittens and was teaching them a lesson. She had gone outside and caught and crippled a field mouse. She brought it back inside for the kittens to see and get to know better. This was the first paws on training I had seen. I could hear the mouse pleading it's case. It was just singing to the choir. I came back a half hour later and it was gone.

Good evening all(for my time zone) I do have to agree that some cats do choose who they want to be with Jake must have since at my old apt. we lived on the 2nd floor so he had to come up 2 flights of stairs to get to our door why I may never know but now after 6 years I cannot imagine him not being with us.
