I have the preferences set correctly, I have it set up for a ten day cache of tasks, but it is still requiring me to stay connected, as it will only send two tasks per contact, and is limiting such to every five minutes. I am without a traditional Internet connection, and am tethered through my cellphone, and really don't want to waste my GByte limit waiting for low bandwidth seti stuff, when some program might try to fetch a large update while online. I want to keep the tethering to seti only. In summary. 1). I have followed the advice, and have things set up for a ten day cache. 2). The server is only sending two WUs every five minutes. How can I get it to send more WUs per contact? After 15 years of doing this, I finally got me a machine that can finally get me into the million+ club in quick fashion, I just want to be able to stockpile the 100 task maximum in one or a few transactions, instead of 50 transactions. At both 5 and 0.01 both at the website and local. I exited, and waited several minutes. Still only getting two per checkin. 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.42 for windows_x86_64 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Libraries: libcurl/7.25.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1 zlib/1.2.6 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Running under account Jim Bryant 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | OpenCL: Intel GPU 0: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (driver version 9.18.10.3272, device version OpenCL 1.2, 1496MB, 1496MB available, 200 GFLOPS peak) 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | SETI@home | Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Host name: Orb 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Processor: 8 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz [Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 3] 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 fma cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 movebe popcnt aes syscall nx lm vmx tm2 pbe 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Ultimate x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Memory: 7.67 GB physical, 15.34 GB virtual 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Disk: 300.56 GB total, 187.66 GB free 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Local time is UTC -5 hours 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | VirtualBox version: 4.3.6 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | SETI@home | URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 7327920; resource share 100 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | SETI@home | General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 17-Jul-2014 19:04:54) 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | SETI@home | Host location: none 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | SETI@home | General prefs: using your defaults 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Reading preferences override file 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Preferences: 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | max memory usage when active: 3926.33MB 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | max memory usage when idle: 7067.40MB 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | max disk usage: 0.10GB 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | don't use GPU while active 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | Not using a proxy 7/21/2014 5:15:53 PM | | Suspending GPU computation - computer is in use 7/21/2014 5:15:53 PM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 7/21/2014 5:15:53 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 2 new tasks 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | SETI@home | General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 21-Jul-2014 17:07:19) 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | SETI@home | Host location: none 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | SETI@home | General prefs: using your defaults 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | Reading preferences override file 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | Preferences: 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | max memory usage when active: 3926.33MB 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | max memory usage when idle: 7067.40MB 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | max disk usage: 0.10GB 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | don't use GPU while active 7/21/2014 5:15:55 PM | | (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 7/21/2014 5:15:57 PM | SETI@home | Started download of 20mr09ac.15894.12751.438086664205.12.70 7/21/2014 5:15:57 PM | SETI@home | Started download of 21ap08ae.16552.11929.438086664203.12.76 7/21/2014 5:16:13 PM | SETI@home | Finished download of 20mr09ac.15894.12751.438086664205.12.70 7/21/2014 5:16:14 PM | SETI@home | Finished download of 21ap08ae.16552.11929.438086664203.12.76 Delidded i7-4790K (CLU/CLU) at 4.7GHz @ 1.310Vcore 24/7, 32GB DDR3-2400, Corsair H100i v2, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK, MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming 4G, HX-650 PSU, Corsair 750D |

Oh, and any idea why it is picking up the copy of VirtualBox I have installed? This is NOT running in a VM. Delidded i7-4790K (CLU/CLU) at 4.7GHz @ 1.310Vcore 24/7, 32GB DDR3-2400, Corsair H100i v2, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK, MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming 4G, HX-650 PSU, Corsair 750D |

7/21/2014 5:15:51 PM | | max disk usage: 0.10GB That is only 100 MB that you allow there for storing of applications and work. I would increase that. |

Oh, and any idea why it is picking up the copy of VirtualBox I have installed? This is NOT running in a VM. Because there is a BOINC Project, Test4Theory, that only works with Linux inside a VM, therefore BOINC is designed to check for VirtualBox and can work with it if you choose to attach to a project that wants it. |

By default BOINC is configured to only download 2 files (per project) simultaneously, and the connection only happens every five minutes. Try editing (or creating) cc_config.xml, which on my PC can be found in C:\ProgramData\BOINC <cc_config> <log_flags> </log_flags> <options> <max_file_xfers_per_project>10</max_file_xfers_per_project> </options> </cc_config> This should give you a maximum of ten per transfer session, which in your situation might be a bit too many, depending on the transfer speed via your phone - play with the number in bold to get the optimum for your situation. Bob Smith! THANK YOU! That worked! While I am here, I have another question. I'm running Lunatics 0.41, and looking at the July 2013 file date, am wondering if it does AVX2 or just AVX? My own benchmarking (NASA PITEST, NOSC FLOPS.C (2.0)) shows a better than 2x increase in speed between AVX and AVX2 using icl and ifort. Windows task manager shows the filename as AVXx. In this moment you have 'In progress (100)' tasks - that limit you can't overcome unless you use the GPU http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7327920&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid= (I mean - can't overcome that limit by normal means ;) ) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Yup. Bill gave me a cc_config.xml template that worked. I tweaked it, and find that setting it to 12 gets things to where the downloads finish before the next server checkin. I'd still like to know if the KWSN Lunatics 0.41 client does AVX2 or just AVX though. I'd still like to know if the KWSN Lunatics 0.41 client does AVX2 or just AVX though. I don't think it uses AVX2 but you may ask the programmer who (I think) compiled it: Josef W. Segur http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=276784 This part of the forum is way bellow his attention I think He writes in Number Crunching  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |
